The holding company behind Kiwibank is making an eleventh hour push for TSB before it's sold to Heartland.
Toi Foundation trustees are due to vote tomorrow on progressing the $620-million-dollar deal.
Kiwi Group Capital has doubled down on its desire to buy TSB after publicly revealing interest last week - calling its offer 'superior'.
Massey University Accountancy and Finance head, Claire Matthews, says Kiwibank wants an opportunity to grow.
"It's really just more of what they're already offering, and it's just concentrated in a particular part of the country - so it's not obvious why it would be particularly attractive."
