Dr Tanveer Ahmed speask with Associate Professor Carmine Gentile, head of the Cardiovascular Regeneration Group at the Heart Research Institute and UTS, as he explores the future of treating severe heart failure. Using groundbreaking stem cell technology, his team is 3D-bioprinting personalized "mini-hearts" designed to repair damaged tissue offering a potential life-saving alternative to donor transplants and a novel way to test cancer treatments for adverse cardiac side effects.
