Paul Moyer, and they either talking crap or showing love. So when you got up there for that interception and you came down with it, man, what was the love like or what was the talk like from your boys when it was all said and done?

So that play was crazy. Actually, I've been with ad for the last two years, you know, he made the change to come here to Seattle, and there was just one play called that I never executed right when it was a past situation. So during that play was a past I realized I was Russian and for the first time, and I guess three years or two years I was. I finally remember to wrap back around. And when I rapped back around, I'm like, okay, I see the quarter man, Well he looked too far and gonna get to him. Then they should know. I just hurt boom and I looked at it. I said, oh the ball, I said, I'm gonna go for it, and everything just kind of went slow motion. I went up for I jumped and I want I jump for the ball. Said, yah, I'm about to take this back. When I landed, I think I just didn't stick the landing right. I hit the ground and as I was about to get back, As I was about to get up, I'm like, all right, there's a lot of people around. I really don't want to get hit. I really don't want nobody to pop the ball out, So let's just secure the ball, you know, get the offense back out here. But the dB was like, we gotta run to the enz I said, run to the end zone. Bro, that's like forty yards away. So we know, running down to the enzone exhausted. You know, it was a big play, you know, first interception in my career. I never thought I would get one. But the good thing about that is the last two weeks we were practicing with Leggy Fraser on tip balls, catching the ball, and you know, the upcoming week I was able to get one, so that a.

Lot of the crack go to a legend on there we go love obviously, I mean Leonard Williams gets one.

Two.

I mean, you don't see a lot of interceptions from the defensive lineman. But you know, I guess I'll jump right into that. You know, we're blessed to have both of you guys here. I couldn't believe a three hundred pounds man as fast as he ran.

Did you know he was that athletic?

Oh, I definitely knew he was athletic, but for him to take it all the way to the end zone, he definitely needed some help from our brothers. They got in him all the way there. I would say, once across over at forty you could tell he was kind of run out of the gas, but nobody was running them down. No one was going to stop him. I think it took him a couple series to get his win back. But no, he's been anough pressure, been a great guy for us man as a leader, just destroying guys out there. So can't be definitely excited for him, heavy for him.

He definitely haven't. He I don't want to take it too far into the season here. I would bring it back a little bit. We were talking. One of the great thing about having a veteran show up as they show up early or on time, and some of the younger guys, you know, they can forget how far it is to be at certain places. So we had a chance to chat a little bit. But you're dearborn Michigan. I know you've been asked us a bunch, but they haven't heard it and we haven't either. How does a guy from dearborn Michigan end up at the I guess Ohio State.

Well, I think at the time Michigan had I think rich Rod and you know, throughout my recruiting process, they always showed that they were interested in me, but for some reason, I never got the scholarship. I never got the offer. I guess it took for a house date Alabama and all the other schools to offer me for them to finally offer me. And I can remember it like it was yesterday. My high school coach was like, well, you know, Michigan just sent you to offer, so do you plan on taking a visit. I'm looking like, no, I'm not going. But I was just so angry because it took so long, and my dad was a Michigan guy, my mom was a Michigan fan, so we ended up taking a visit there. It just didn't feel real, genuine, and it was asking me constantly every ten to twenty minutes. Are you gonna commit? Are you gonna come in? I'm looking like I ain't even seen the whole you know, the facility. I ain't been around the campus. I just got here, and yes, y'all asked me if I'm gonna commit. But our high state just kind of just felt real. The guys I went there on the visit with just kind of just felt like we were brothers from day one. And it was hard because you know, commitment that everybody blewed me.

Oh I got and.

I was trying to get through an understanding here. This is a great team. I know I'm going to the other side, but it's definitely gonna be a you know, a good spot for me. And it turned out that way. And you know, I wasn't the first Michigan guy to go to a house state, you know, will William Goston went there so burning ghosta but you know I'll state nowhere to find talent.

Yeah, I did do well. You weren't. You make the move and it was probably the best decision you made, one of the best decisions you made in your life. Yeah, because now you put out twelve years in the game. Yeah, a lot of us get to the league Paul Muyer and I And you know, I tell my kids I was supposed to play fifteen years in the league. You know, it didn't work out that way for it. So we were one of the few to where you were able to play twelve years in counting you're probably gonna hit fifteen years and more. Man, what what have you done that's allowed your mind, your body, and your soul to kind of stay locked into this NFL thing? Because you know how it is, man, there's distractions and all that stuff going on, Like, how'd.

You think the biggest thing is just to support my parents, my brothers and sisters, my wife, and then secondly just the love of the game.

Man.

Obviously, we go through these long seasons and after the season it's like, oh, you know, do I really want to do another one? And then right around free agency time and when football started to come back, you start to feel it again. And it's a feeling that I just can't shake. Not sure with the future, hos, but I just love it so much. That's what really keeps me going. That's what wakes me up. Being at twelve years. Obviously, I'm not getting the bulk of the reps, not the star guy. But to be able to pass on the knowledge that I've learned over the years to the younger guys, that's something I look forward to every day. Just excited to give back to them to prolonged their careers and you know, help them be successful.

Speaking of passing down the knowledge, we spoke to Biron Murphy today earlier in the huddle from twelve to two Thursdays. Y'all at the huddle, okay, and you were one of the first names that he mentioned when like, you know, how is the season going. Who you're learning from? He said, you in the big cap, man, what do you see out of him? And what are you passing down to Biern Murphy.

Man, that's one guy really didn't have to say much to and this surprised man. That shocked me. And they got to the point where during training camp, I'm asking him, so what do you see, like what made you want to play this block this way? And then a dawned on me. I'm like, I'm asking the rookie how he playing black? I'm older than him, I'm asking him, but just the way he anticipated plays testiplate blocks. I haven't seen anybody that came in as a rookie and is playing that well technically, and it's it's a joy to watch, especially when you're seeing guys make the right reads, play football the right way, and he does it so evidently that you know, there are times I'm a little jealous, but man, I'm thrilled to just sit back and watch and you know, whoever questions that he have me j reed be a cat when we just you know, just try to give him as much information as he can to go out there to be the best player he can be.

And it does look like he's improved.

Early on, there were some double teams, particularly guard block down. He was getting washed down and he wasn't leveraging that I'm seeing he's say more square.

It's kind of being valuable to have, you though, in Leo and Read.

I mean, you know three guys that know how to do it. Is he a Sponge Murphy, Oh.

He's definitely was. He's He's never negative. He's always positive. The man never not practice. If you ask him how you feel, he's gonna always tell you feels great. Just one of those guys that wants to learn, wants to be better, wants to you know, obviously, I think he should win a Rookie of the Year. We've got a few more games left, so we'll see. But just a great, great player overall. I would say his parents raised him well. He is a great kind of guy and just a hard nosed dude.

We talked about how deep this line is and talk the legion a boom, and I said, I actually think there's some more talented defensive line than they were. And that's saying something that you guys, really but the particular roles you play now, You' even throwing Draymond Jones in there too. He plays you know, a little bit of the the end spot to see if I asked this question right, what's the sweet spot for rotation? Because D line's about the only position that really rotates. And I know you want to play one hundred percent of the place, but where's the diminishing return of that? So I mean, is it is seventy percent? You're going, man, you know I still want to play, but I'm pretty gassed because look, you're the only group that has to push every play. You only group to get the double teams every single play, so you're going to be tired.

What's the sweet spot that.

Would be for you to play whatever percentage of play.

It really just depends on how the game's going. I guess you could say early in the season, we were having time hard time stopping the run. We want thin gaps, right, so that cost for me to play a little bit more, which you know, I don't mind. But as the season kind of went on, we started getting a handled on the run. We'll stopped. You started winning first and second down, so that allowed for the pass rushers to go out there and be able to pass rush. At one point in my career I was a good pass rusher. But right now we got a lot of guys that can affect the quarterback, can get to them a lot quicker than me. But it really just depends on how the game is going. I would say a D and the coach Houn has been doing a good job. But to have twelve guys that can pretty much start anywhere in NFL, it's a tough challenge. But you know, just got to be a little selfless. We've been winning, so it's kind of hard to be angry or mad when you win it, and when you're out there having fun with your brothers. There's nothing like it.

Last one, you know, we gotta let you go.

A lot of the guys that I played with coming up, who played for a long time, not only were they talented, but they were good businessmen entrepreneurs. Yeah, and you seem like you're down that path. What else you got going on? Tell the people, and uh, you know what, we're endeavors.

So I'm real big in real estate. I have a probably about six or seven properties. I have a hotel that's being built in Blackfoot out of whole. I have a few commercial like plazas with some dominoes and liquor stores, but pet hospitals. So really just trying to get back to the community, actually moving back home. Really just you know, talking to older guys that's been since as well, and just learning as much as I can, and just trying to be real smart with my money.

I still don't know that. I leave the show at eight o'clock. We go through what I want to do.

All right, So last week what happened Hawk's Got it doue go down to the desert and you beat the Arizona Cardinals. I was a bit concerned about the game because after time, the Cardinals were playing some good football, top five offense, top five defense. Kylin Murray was taking care of the football for the most part. He has made some turnovers of the run game was on point. But they came out and we saw something that we haven't seen at all this year. One hundred and seventy six yards as a team running the football. One fifty four from our guy or one thirty four from our guy is Zach sharber name. Talk to me, man, Why were they to be so successful running the football?

Well, I think we were feeling pretty good going into the game, mainly because I just felt our defensive line dominated their offensive line the last time.

It wasn't about scheme.

We had a nice scheme to it, but I just said, oh, we can take care of them, and we did again. Other than their open and drive, we really dominated that game. And even that we could have got off on third down. I mean it was just an inch away from that as well. So I just thought defensively, this is five games in a row, five game in a row. We've held teams defensively under twenty points. The offense gave up a touchdown for that that made the score bigger, but defense actually giving up points has not given up. The most they've given up was last week eighteen. So playing really good ball.

Why offensively, look, I think it is some of the changes we've made. Look our whole middle to right side.

We got a new center, new guard, new right tackle, right you know, going back, you know, three four weeks ago. I think we're better against the pass with that group. I think we actually pass protect pretty well. The run game's still coming, but I think a lot of it was scharbon Ay And you go and look at that fifty one yard touchdown, which will probably pull up later. He followed his block, and he let the block develop, and then he stayed within the sea parted for him. And sometimes we're not patient enough with that. You know, a lot of you know, again, I think Canine is a lot more run to daylight, and he's twitchy. He sees something, he jumps to it. He's a great running back and when he gets in the secondary and his speed, you got to have that. But with this, Charbonne said, you know, I'm not going to make a lot of people miss even though he broke a tackle on that run, but he stayed with the block. The sea parted and he I mean, it wasn't a you know, that was just good running and really patient. And I remember having a guys, some of you may remember a guy named Kurt Warner who was a running back.

He's a ring of honor. Back in when I was playing, they used to have plays to Kurt, and I remember him.

He used to tell me this how they would coach them, said, display, you have to stay with the block, no free lancing on it. We're gonna keep running this one. We think it's going to open. We want you to stay with it. These other ones it's run to daylight. We're not gonna over coach you on that. Want your instincts to take over. And I think, you know, what we saw last week was more stay with us, stay with us, and boy, there were some nice big holes and there were some that weren't, but all of a sudden they popped at the last second.

I just think the other.

Thing is we're we're pass protecting better and because of that, teams are having to say, oh, we got to steal play the shell, right, we gotta protect the pass because they like to pass. So when we see that, you know, either with an RPO or we just check with me type of offense. All right, if you guys are only have five in the box, we're gonna run it. And there were times when they only had five in the box and we run it.

So it was a lot about that.

I like that.

The description of stay with this run and then you go for what you know, typically stay with this run is gap scheme, like, look, we got a body on a body. We're going to take care of this backer. There's a path for you. You roll with him. With zone is kind of like, okay, start this way and then if you see something you go So what I did? I texted Deshaun Foster, head coach for UCLA, was the running back coach for Zach Sharbonnay when he was there, and I go, DeShawn, did you guys run a lot of gap scheme with Zach Sharpnair was a zone because he killed the gaps scheme last week. He goes, Nah, most zone and so that was it was fun to me. He goes, Yeah, the Hawks got to commit to the run. But we ran mostly zone. I go, well, obviously you guys ran some gap scheme. How did he look in the gap scheme? He told me he looked better in zone than gap scheme. So now I'm looking at what Zach Sharbonay did and I realized he's just adding something to his game and I can appreciate that about him. And now I want to see how Grub plays off of that, because you know, when you have that guard tackle pull bam, you can run a jet sweep off of that. As a counterlook, you can run an RPO off of that. I'm so excited to see what Grubb does to kind of build off of that.

Well, look at his one of his touchdowns, the one where we motioned him out of the backfield and motioned him back and he became the fly sweet guy to our left and the offense and ran it in.

Which I thought Grubb did some really cool things.

I go, Okay, they half motion with the wing or tight end and trying to power it.

It's not working.

Yea.

You know, we got to do some misdirection.

We got to pull some people, and I know it's tough and short yardage because if you pull somebody like we saw on the opening play with Buddha Baker dropping down and shooting the gap.

You know, you worry about that, but if you got the right.

Defense and you're actually pulling some linemen, it's a beautiful thing. I thought that play, that touchdown. I said, Grub is creative. Yeah, he's creative, man. And I'm really excited about where we're going offensively. I don't think we're again, I don't think we're an offense is going to be putting up thirty points often unless we hit some big ones early. I think there's a strength to our offensive line that they understand now.

We're pretty good protecting often.

To line now and then on the run game, we've got to be calculate how we're going to do it. I had last week's game plan was brilliant because if you go to the first game, their defensive line dominated our offensive line, I mean dominated as much as almost as much as we dominated.

There is a first game, so ought.

To be excited just a whole another front. It's a really good run defense. We're coming up against the pack. I mean a really good run defense, very very sound defense. I think we can put some you know, yards in the air on them. I think we can protect against what they do, and I think we can attack their secondary.

Let's get DK going, Let's get Locky going. I love what Jsen is doing, oh man. I think he's clearly performing like a number one receiver, top what's six or seven in the league when it comes to yards, top six in the league when it comes to yards. It's impressive to see how he has grown. So with that, they're going to game plan for that. So there should be other opportunities for DK and Tyler Lockett to get going. So I'm excited to make one game is going. Uh, get the pass game going again. Defense is doing a screen games. That's a silent killer that we haven't talked too much about that screen game. Man, it's it's been fun. They like the middle screen. Ye see a smoke screen happen too as well. I think you gotta start mixing that up too as well. But either way, man, beggars can't be choosing. We've been begging for a middle screen.

We're gonna there's gonna be a fake middle screen with somebody down the middle or down the seam that we're gonna hit big and that's gonna alleviate that as well.

The one thing I do know about Grub. Grub does a.

Really good job of game planning for the next week, setting things up so you'll see a wrinkle from it.

We're good, man. Thanks for taking time on a Thursday, and though the holidays are all crazy and stuff, y'all getting ready for a big Sunday night game.

It's it's been so fun to watch you in particular.

And then this defense is kind of get going and feel like you guys are on the same wave.

Man.

I can always tell when a defense is it's on the same page. The communication is on point. You guys are making plays. How fun hasn't been the last four or five weeks to be a part of this unit?

Man, it's been great. You know, the way that we guys are getting next thing and the way that we're talking to each other. You know, I can see each other as you you know, reading off each other and understanding one another and having that chemistry just finally work and something to been working on all here. And I feel like, especially as a team, we all believed and that we all knew that it could be here, but we just needed to see it coming pop wish and so just seeing it actually happen now is beautiful.

Was there a moment, boy a, I mean, obviously getting Ernest Jones and ty Reeve McKnight or knight in there as well, they're playing well at linebacker, But was there a moment where you all just went, it's it's there. I mean, we all know what we're doing, we all trust each other, let's just play football.

I think that's really one of the moments you know, we kind of had.

A situation where, you know, especially coming off of the by coming back into the season, I think the guy just kind of all bought in and we all knew what we should do, and we saw the potential, we saw the field, and we saw how closed we were to being a complete team.

And I feel like we kind of just bought it after that and just said, yeah, we could do it with these group of guys.

In the room.

We don't need anybody else. Let's make it happen and let's do it.

Yeah, and we can feel it.

Man.

Paul Morier, Ray Roberts, myself, and Brian Watson's were part of the we have time in postgame show and it's been so much fun just watching you guys set the tone. I mean, I'm an offensive guy and I can always tell when the defense is out there on a mission, what is the what's the preparation like for you guys, has anything changed when it comes to prep or has everything been the same, but you just kind of paid attention to a little more detail.

I feel like for us, the biggest thing on us is that our mentality really changed. And you know, it's great to see, you know, the guys are We're all looking at it because we know what's at the stake, We know what we can do, and we know what type of defense that we could be. So seeing that actually happen and having that mentality going into the week, I mean, I think that makes the world a difference for us. And actually having everyone look at each other and be like, yeah, I got your back, And especially guys. You know, one thing I stretched, like school likes to say, he says, I got to six, we came right back, we got to twelve. And it's one of the things that we just happened going around and I feel like it's been going really well.

I love that.

Yeah, I mean it definitely looks different. I mean it's five weeks in a row.

You know.

Really the RAM game, I thought you guys played exceptional. Look last year you come off nine sacks. I think you're a complete player. I mean, run game, pass game. What's the biggest thing you improved on from last year to where you are today?

I Mean, for me, the biggest thing I knew I needed to take a step in the game was understanding. I felt like, you know, especially last year, Like, yes, I had nine sacks last year, but do I feel like I could have had more players and more copper duit or does yes? And I feel like the biggest thing for me was understanding the player that I am, the player that I could be, and understanding where my opportunities were and how I could be a better player and just finding those ways and focusing on those things and how become a better player.

Boy, after talking to you over the years, man, it's clear as day you're a sharp and smart individual. And I always like to learn how people learn. You know, I have kids. I'm interested to learn, you know, how can I teach them? How did they receive information the best? How do you receive information the best?

I don't know if I'm the best example for that, you know, I, like you said, I feel like for me, the biggest thing is, you know, the type of person you tell me once, maybe twice I got it and then maybe going through it as a walk through one time and it kind of sticks after that. But uh, you know, for me, learning is really one of the things that you know, it comes from obviously the intention of learning, and when I have my mindset of like, okay, this is what we got to focus on. These are my keys I focus on those things, and I make sure it is verbally repeating it to myself and walking through it in my head helps. And then you write it down at least twice. Oh yeah, then you're ready to go.

Yeah, how's uh?

Look, another guy that's been fun to watch and I you know it might be one of the more improved players is. It's certainly a hall and he is a strong young man. How how is his game developed? And how close are you guys?

No, he's actually gone a lot better, you know, especially you know, I've been watching him. He came in, and I've been trying to help him out, and you know, in different ways, just showing him the things that I learned. You know, I don't think I know it all, but I know a couple of things, so I try to help him out with that. But at the same time, you know, he's definitely gotten a lot better, and I've improve in his high day and the sky's the limit for him. He has a lot of potential and he has a lot too that he can even grow even further in his game, and I'm excited to see where he takes it, honestly, because of what he can do and how he plays the game, it can be a lot. And I know he's not even He's just got the surface of what he can't be as a players.

Man.

I love the combo of you and Derek Hall. But not but but and you got an addition last week you got back there, wils Oh yeah, Oh what's that like for you guys?

Man?

I felt great. You know, I felt like I haven't been able to hoop or I call it hooping, but I feel like I haven't been able to hoop with him and over a year now, So just being able to have that hands to play with them again, and you know, you know, being that when he came to Seattle was my first Ricky year, So just being able to play with him again, honestly was an exciting thing and I was I was happy that I could do that again and we could actually get back of a bill and now we can put it off the year together and with the defense going to the direction we're going, I'm nothing but excited.

Well, my family is a big fan of yours.

When you were here on the show with this couple of year, I told you my son in law is Nigerian and so I'm gonna throw something atcha because.

They got really long middle names.

My my granddaughter is Lennon James chim Azuru Oyo locor last name. My son in law is Kate and David Chuka Wizana Oyo Locor. And then my newest granddaughter is Scarlett Rowe Adamma oo lo Core.

What is your full name?

It's a big matchup Sunday night football, prime time. I'm excited for you guys. The Packers got a good football team over there. What are you seeing out of them?

No, they got a lot going on. They're a great team. You know. They have a lot of success. Right now they're being decided. They've played Detroit very tight and they have a good team. They're defensive, playing really well their office times, they're explosive players. So it's gonna be an eciding matchup for us. And I'm actually excited to see what we do with this matchup. You know. I feel like there's a lot of potential and there's a lot that we can do with this matchup. So we'll see where it takes us. We'll see, honesty, But I'm excited to get this game, sunny night football in Seattle with the twelve. What more can you really ask for? That's all I gotta say.

Yeah, I mean, look, the one thing about you guys, I mean, look, your pass rush right now is really spectacular and you know a lot of you know, watching the Arizona game, you guys got great gut pressure, you guys with speed rush, but then kind of bull and collapse that pocket. I mean, you guys got to be feeling pretty good going into this game as well. Does the home field advantage just one where we just haven't got that thing flipped yet? Is the home field advantage? Are we back for that for you guys? For an advantage in rushing the passer?

Oh for sure. I mean it's always been I mean, I realize that, especially in our stadium, it's hard for guys on the especially around the teams, to get at the same page. And those are the little things that the fans help us out. And the fact that they make it hard for them to make their communication, especially at the last second, it helps in our favor every time.

Boyeah man, we appreciate your time and your effort on the football field.

Welcome back to Hawks Live, presented by the Dining District of Michael Bumpas along with my guy Paul Moya. It's now time to go around the NFL. So we're gonna go around the NFL. But we're gonna start in college football because it's connected to the NFL. Who is the new head coach at the University of North Carolina, Bill Belichick. If you would have told me a year ago that he would be in the ACC coach in football, I would have told you I'm gonna.

Put my house on it.

Now.

I wouldn't because my wife would kill me. But I wasn't ready for this, and as soon as the rumors got going, I anticipated more that he's gonna entertain it because he wants to coach.

He's a ball coach. But now it goes down and some of the.

Critiques that I've heard or criticism that I've heard is that, well, why would he go to North Carolina and not a blue blood because blue bloods don't just get rid of their coaches like that. The board was fortunate to be in the position he was in, and the ACC has actually playing some decent football. I've covered the ACC this year. SMU was in the playoff, Clemson is in the playoff, Pitt was ranked at one time, Boston College was Miami as well. There's like three or four decent teams in the ACC. I also think that Moyer it is a different game now. It's not the high or excuse me, college football that we grew up on to where you got to go and recruit and all you have is a promise and a wish that they're going to get there. You got money now, you can go buy your football team. I think that he wouldn't go if he didn't feel like he'd have the backing of the collective the NIL and felt like he could go out and get a team that could compete. All you got to do is win the acc What were your initial thoughts?

We heard, well, a couple of things. Why first, I like every He's like, how does that work? But he's been out a year. He's doing a little bit like Pete Carroll. Pete Carroll sat out a year after he has fired a second head coaching job in the NFL, and he wrote a book What would I want to accomplish? How would I want to run an organization? And Bill Belichick has a four hundred and twenty page manual how to run an organization? Because college now is like the NFL.

You got.

He goes, look, I'm we're gonna have a free agency NIL group. We're going to recruit these people. I'm gonna surround them. By the way, this sounds familiar what Fish is doing at U DUB. I'm gonna surround myself with NFL coaches. I'm going to prepare you for the NFL and for life after football.

We got a complete plan.

You come here, we're gonna pay you, and then you're gonna have the best of the best. And I'm the best it's ever been as a coach. So I look at that too. He's got a he's got to I believe he's got some homes down south.

He's got a twenty four year old girlfriend.

I'm like, life is good, right, I mean, you know, he's gotten getting paid ten million. And more importantly, I don't think he wants to go to an Alabama or a Ohio.

State of the word. He wants to go and say that's a sleeping giant.

I can if they follow my organizational chart and let me delegate this properly will be a powerhouse.

In North Carolina.

Is like to me in Arizona State, it's a sleeping giant. It's a beautiful campus, it's down south. I mean, there's a lot of reasons to go there. They got a lot of money. I'm not surprised once I heard that what his plan was, and then it didn't surprise me that he had a four hundred and twenty page you know, you know, process or for people to follow on how to run an organization.

And the collective went from worth spending four million dollars on athletes to twenty million dollars. Also, is going to be revenue share as well. That's another twenty million dollars. He's going to deal with forty million dollars to get kids to come to North Carolina.

And it became the wrong wrong year.

It is not like you're counting on the vcs. You're counting going the committee to pick four. There's twelve. The ACC has an automatic bid if you win your conference championship. The path is just different. And what's the first thing he does. He goes and he gets himself a general manager. That's how much the game has changed. Michael Lombardi's going to be a general manager. Sounds like his son might join him over there as well. He might be onto something down in North Carolina, and his dad coached there from fifty three to fifty five.

It all makes sense once you once you line it all up.

Yeah, I mean, you know his dad coaching there was probably like, oh my dad coached here.

Look, I think there's there's some routes from.

That going at the hard strings. They threw that out him, like, man, your dad was for sure.

Look, this isn't the first time a school has tried this, and there's a bunch of them that are doing a form of it. Anyways, Arizona State when they hired Herm Edwards. That was what they said, Herm, you just got to come in and close the deal. We've got this scouting department, We'll go out and recruit, We'll bring.

The people here. You just close. All you got to do is coach. So that's one.

I mean, obviously Ohio State does a form of that. University Washington. That was Fish's big pitch. We are going to surround you with former NFL coaches. We're gonna have guys like Belichick here, Carroll walking around. You're gonna have a you're gonna be streamlined to the NFL. You gonna have the best of the best, and we're going to prepare you for life after. And then Belichick was hanging out in that and said, I'm going to take this to another level. I'm going to actually write a manuscript for this thing.

I am going to have. It's gonna have how to hire everything and so.

And the one thing he is, he's detailed, he's organized, he knows how to delegate. He is a guy that will build these people up and then say okay, now go do your thing. So yeah, I think he's going to be very successful with it if they run it the way he wants to.

And then he also came out and said he didn't like the way the NFL did business. They didn't like the way that after he was done with Tom Brady, they pointed out he wasn't winning football games. He felt like it was it was too emotional. And now that the UNC there was more transactional, he's more black and white. I'm not going to sit up there at the podium and tell you what you want to. Hear behave the way that you want me to behave. So, knowing what I know about Bill Belichick, he's got to be walking around Chapel Hill like I am the man. What I say goes. That's why Atlanta didn't want to mess with him. That's why the Chargers didn't want to do it. That's why the Seahawks didn't look at it because they didn't want someone to come in and kind of just run the show. Where I feel like in North Carolina, he's the guy. What he says goes the complete power, I think is what entice him as well.

Yeah, and I think just the opportunity to say I told you so, yeah and approve it. You know, if he goes to another NFL team and he doesn't win, they're gonna say, oh, was Tom Brady, you know. And the other thing is maybe his message doesn't quite work anymore. It happens, you know, it's just kindler, gentler type of thing. We only have to practice a couple hours a day. Whereas it goes into college, he goes, you better listen to me, because I know what it takes for you to get there. This is your dream. I'm that, you know, conduit for you. I think that will carry what and yes, we're gonna have to buy you guys.

We'll see. Hopefully they fix that in the next year or two.

Some contracts please, well.

They just they Yeah, it's got to be a two year It just can't be an every year free agency, you know. I mean, God blessed, we love him, you know, brock Hewort, Sam Hewarts, you know, his nephew. I mean, this will be his fourth team, fourth team. I mean that used to be unheard of, you know, So that's got to get fixed. I mean, that's not amateur athletics, and I don't guess it never will be. But I think it works. I think he's determined to make it work. I think he says, I'm not the buy I'm at the cutting edge. This I'm looking at very similar to what Pete Carroll did. He took a year off. How would I want to do this? They're both detailed, they're driven. I think it's gonna work again. I think he's got the twenty four year old is going.

To keep him motivating.

They tend to do that.

I wouldn't know.

And then it's imagine if you were going to the SEC and a program like Vanderbilt said yeah, we'll pay you whatever you want and you got to compete against the Georgia's, the Texas Bama. Like, you're looking at the ACC and there's opportunity. Clemson just snuck in this thing. You got SMU win in the ACC Championship, they get into the College Football Playoff. Just the path to success. It seems a bit easier in the ACC, guess.

I mean, Texas is in it and they didn't be the top twenty five team, so you know, perception reality. I mean, the SEC said, look at our tough schedule. Oh, you play eight league games, half of them they're against lousy teams. You're gonna play one or two, you guys, schedule it perfect, You're probably gonna play two tough games. By the way, they lost both of them. Texas is in why they could considered the favorite. I mean, it's it's it's odd to me. You have other teams, Arizona State. They go, they shouldn't be seated there.

I go.

They actually proved it.

They beat four top twenty five teams, won their conference championship.

It's not subjective, it's they earned it. Some of these other schools. Arizona State. Okay, but here's what here's where I will say.

You're right though, but I had to let the people know you No.

I'm very I've heard all the ESPN things. They need to see this and shouldn't be conference champions getting buys? I go, so we you would have Texas have a buye when they have not beaten a top twenty five team this year They've won't they're only top twenty.

Five teams they've they've lost to them.

So how is that a buye? But they would do that. But let me get back to the Belichick thing. He would not have done this if they didn't say we got nil money. Oh yeah, well they've got the money to compete and Uh, you don't have to you don't.

Have to raise it.

We had a revenue share coming.

We got that part.

I'm really curious how that's gonna work because what revenue you're gonna have left.

But we'll see. There's a lot of sports that.

Must be out there for there's there's people who are punching numbers who Uh, it.

Only takes one or two of you. If you've got any any billionaires out here, take you over there.

So anybody.

If you're a billionaire out there, I got you what you need me to do.

But no, this is a it's been.

It's a great conversation because at one point we saw a lot of college head coaches jumping ship and saying I'll go to the NFL and be a coordinator because this is getting too crazy. Now we're seeing guys like Bill O'Brien go to Boston College. Now we're seeing Bill Belichick go to University of North Carolina because there is an infrastructure now to where they feel like it can be. Uh, it's conducive to them competing and getting to the College Football Playoff. All you got to do is get in and uh and you might be get to well, sure, we got to get out here at producers yelling at me. Man, all right, I'm.

Hey, time for an opponent preview. Moyer.

Yeah, it's real this time.

It's a good one.

An opponent preview. So we're looking at the Packers. Man, When I look at these Packers, I see a defensive line. If you try to run a wide zone on them, like a stretch, they shoot the guests. They're pretty good. I think you're better off running downhill at them with just inside zone and with like a trap or power or something like that getting left to right. I think they're pretty good. Defensive line is all right. Also, like the play of their safeties. You have Exavier McKinnon, who has McKinney excuse me, who has seven interceptions tied for the most in the NFL twelve interceptions total, whether plus nine and the the turnover differential. They're a solid football team. Man, But you like you like you like what you saw on film.

Though, Well, no, I look, I think they're good. I think they're good by the way.

I thought we were about to do the uh play inside the film room. So I am completely not prepared for this segment.

I gotta wing it.

I watched them against Miami and I watched them against Detroit. Watch them a little more in depth in on Detroit. I think they're good, but I ain't afraid of them.

He we ain't never see well.

But I mean, I mean when we played Detroit and I looked at their offensive line, I go, man, that's problem. They are so good on the offensive line. We weren't playing great on the defensive line at that point. And just the the intricacy of their offense and the timing that they did things.

I went, man, it's a problem.

When we would play San Francisco in the past, when they're healthy, both offensively and defensively, I go, they.

Are playing at another level.

I mean, we're gonna have to play the best game, and they're gonna probably have to play not their best game for us to have a chance to win.

I look at this one and I go, all right, look, there are four losses. Two of them are to Detroit, one's to Minnesota, and one's to Philadelphia. I get it. But their strength of victory is lower than ours. It's around four hundred. It's like four h two.

You know, it's just and so now watch them on film. I go, they're sound, they're good, but I just nothing jumps at me when I watch them offensively, I go.

Okay, they don't want to take sacks.

He does like to throw interceptions. Because of that, let me go look at him defensively. You know, nose is good, not like the guy from the Giants, where you know you just three guys can't block them. They're sound, they're giving up a lot of yards in the passing game. I think way we're protecting. I think that's gonna give us an opportunity if they decide that they're going to try to shell us and not have enough guys in the box, I think we'll be able to check into the run.

I think we're playing better than they are right now we're at home. I mean my.

Expectations we're gonna beat these guys. Right, We've got to play really good football. We can't turn it over, got to play, got to win on special teams, met all the cliche stuff, right, we got to play well to beat them. But I think if we play well and they play well, we're going to win.

I believe the last time the Packers have won in Loman was two thousand and eight. You know, the last time Haldre you they played. I was on the football field.

Yeah, that's a long time.

So thankfully I'm not on the football field. Okay, I remember it was Aaron Rodgers was like as first a second year they came down here. We weren't very good in two thousand and eight. Okay, we're four and twelve. That's how I made the team, right, we're four and twelve. They said, look, we needs wanted to catch football. But yeah, so it's been a while and the floor has made that, you know evident. He said it in his pressle like, look, it's hard to win down there, but you know how this game goes. You never give your opponent bulletin board material. They're not gonna do them. Jordan Love has only been sacked sixteen times. That's like top five when it comes to protecting the quarterback. So I'm looking at this defensive line and we need to change the narrative. We need to make them do something that they don't typically do. Let's sack the quarterback. If you can do that, you have a chance. Also, when it comes to attempted air yards, so passes that are attempted to be completed, Jordan Love is fourth in the NFL when it comes to attempted air yards nine yards per pass play. That is fourth best in the NFL. That's in front of Jameis Winston, Crazy, Trevor Lawrence, and Anthony Richardson.

So they will try to push the football down the field.

He holds on to it. And you said something to me last week. He said, if he's not turning the football over at a high clip, or if he's not if there aren't no bunch of attempts, and that means that they're scared that he's going to turn the football over. He has a few games where he's only thrown twenty twenty two times.

They want to run the football, They want to run it, and they look, they got a good player and Josh Jacobs, I mean savaging four point four yards per carry.

He's got over one thousand yards. That's what they want to do.

Arizona had only given up fifteen sacks when we play him.

The first time, we got five on him.

I look at Love and I go, yeah, he hadn't been sacked a lot, but he's thrown a lot of interceptions. So he's a guy that reminds me of Okay, when the pocket collapses and we're going to collapse, we're gonna collapse a pocket on him. He going to throw it into coverage. We're kind of getting the field for getting the ball. Now, you know we've got you know, we've had some defensive line interceptions. You know, Kobe Bryant's had a couple of the last few weeks. I just think we're playing at such a you know, a high confident level. I think the crowd's going to be loud. I think we're going to have better get off. I don't think people realize how good our pass rush is. Our pass rush gets gut pressure. That is kryptonite for quarterbacks. They don't like that. They don't want that, you know, people right in front of them because they're trying to throw over them.

So what do they do.

They want to try to escape out to the side, if they can our two speed rushers, and really Hall and Mafey are as good, and then throwing Draymont Jones in there too, and China, I mean we got foward to rotate. What they do is they get speed, but they don't often go around the quarterback. They will get around the edge of the tackle if the quarterback is still back there.

But they're good. And then they bull rush so well.

So you just see this phone booth just collapse on people. And when that's claustaphobia for a lot of quarterbacks. So they're going to throw it on contested throws. And this is where our playmakers, Kobe Witherspoon, love all of our guys, Woolin, you got to come up with the plays and I think I think we will.

I'm so excited for this game.

I am.

I'm excited for us to put our stamp on the game. I'm excited for the NFL to say that is for real. That's nine and five now, and you know with bring in Minnesota and let's take care of Chicago and the last game of the year we play. Unfortunately, the Rams won tonight nine to six, twelve to six, oh, twelve to six.

Excuse me. They kicked the field whether with what twenty some seconds? Yeah, twelve to six.

Really disappointed, and you brought up a really good point. Everybody said, how can you root for the forty nine ers?

I cannot.

I hate the forty nine ers, And you said, I'm not. I'm rooting against the Rams. So we hope the Rams lose tonight.

And they did. And that's a bummer, is what it is. Last game of the years.

Hey, you know, Okay, it's my wingman right here. All right, it's time to go inside the froom. This is something me and Paul love to do.

We watch a lot of films.

Paul will watch film and I'll get a long text message about two hundred to three hundred characters breaking it all down, and I gotta go back and verify in the film in ten percent of the time he's actually right.

All right.

So now I'm just playing my man. You know, Paul Marrier may he knows some football. So let's go in the film and break something down, all right. Let's first play Kyler Murray pass is intended for Marvin Harrison picked off by Ernest Jones in the first quarter.

There were a couple of Arizona Cardinals in the middle of that scrum at the defensive front. Who's Jay Reid the guy who they had to hold so second down in nineteen Now back at his own twenty one, starting out an epistol formation, and now Connor slides over to the right side. Three receivers left for Kyler. Murray's gonna throw the middle. It's intercepted Jones.

He's across the twenty, tripped up and dropped at the nineteen.

Yard line for.

The second time in three weeks. Kyler Murray and his own end of the field throws a pick and except for a bit of a trip, it would have been another pick six. But as it is, the Seahawks have it near the red zone of the Arizona Cardinals and Jones comes up with the interception.

All right, Moore, your time to shine.

Man.

Defense comes up with a pick. What are you seeing?

Well, you know, I don't know if this is designed or not. Ernest Jones.

They end up having a slot to the right, and I think I don't know if they have a.

Tight end there.

Maybe it's a tight end and a wide receiver to our left. They look like Ernest Jones turns towards the Arizona sideline to double I think McBride, Yeah, I actually have three wi percent. McBride's a tight end and two wide receivers to the right. At the last second, he looks at Kyler Murray, and Kyler Murray is now looking to throw an in route behind him and he reads the quarterback beautiful to It's a wonderful interception. I'm gonna flex a little bit on this one. So going back to my day, We're playing Houston at the time, and Warren Moon's a quarterback, and there was a play where Warren Moon would drift to his right my left, and he would see if the safety would drift with him in the middle of the field, and then he would throw a backside on you in the in the in the plus twenty five territory. So they're in around the twenty five yard line and I bait Warren.

I bait him. I've worked on it all week.

I slip with him just and at the last second, I bolted and I intercepted, and I take it down the sideline for about forty yards I almost think. I feel like Ernest did the same thing. But when I heard him, he was just I was there and I happened to look, and he, you know, he cut back, saw it and made it, made a great interception.

I don't know if he would have scored a touchdown.

He did trip up on Tyree's night, I believe, but he probably would have got it inside the ten.

It's such a big play.

And I want to give some props to Ernest Jones and Tyreek Knight, but Ernest Jones on this one.

He is a fantastic run.

Player, but he's got a real good feel for the passing game too, and this shows it because he is.

Doubling the tight end.

He looks back at the last second the quarterback quarterback starts to throw it, he cuts underneath the end route which would have been open if he didn't see it.

All right, DC tell me, tell me that often it's a guy. When I look at the def this is what I see from Ernid Jones. I think that his rule is if number three goes in, I carry him. I have to carry him. So as soon as he gets past the second level, which is Kobe Bryant, who comes down to that level right there. Now, his attention goes on the quarterback because he's like, look, I don't have to worry about him anymore. My eyes are gonna get back to the quarterback. And Kyler Murray sees the same thing. He sees us drop hips or away. So Kyler mer is looking at it. It dropped hips are away. Now he's not worried about him. He goes, I don't have to worry about the guy anymore. All I have to do is worry about the flat defender, which happens to be Tyree's Knight. He's going to the flat he thinks he has a window, and Ernest gets his eyes run up at the right time.

All right, let me ask you what defense do you think they're playing? And listen, this is when it's getting fun, you guys. This I don't know it loves it sound. It sounds they have everybody covered and they're picking up guy.

So you go watch Witherspoon.

Witherspoon carries a team seas an underneath crossing route or a dagger. He jumps that corner, starts to fold over the top. He sees another route. He falls off. Every but tyree S Knight up top. He I'm telling you everybody's picked up. But if you ask me what defense are playing, I don't know.

I think it's a three match. It's a cover three. But once someone gets into your zone, he is now your guy, at least underneath. Because look at the way that Kobe passes it off and now Job is sitting love on the outside route, and then he sees that threat by Bib mcbrid now he drops out. So I think it's a three match.

Yeah, I think you're right.

I mean Job probably throws me off a little bit because he squats and he needs to be looking for that seam and potential and fold into the scene.

As soon as his outside.

Receiver went under, she needs to work back to number two and number three. I think you're right, but I'm telling you the last five years, you guys, we didn't do this kind of match up. I mean, we just spot dropped and it just like here, it's seven on seven, you know, during a Wednesday practice with no pads on.

Yeah, this is different and it's getting fun.

Guys don't know how much fun this is. Watching film trying to figure stuff out. Like I we send notes all day to each other trying to figure the stuff. I love this all right. Next play, on the very next possession, Kyler Murray does the interception pass intended to Zay Jones.

Kobe Bryan gets his third of the year.

Second down to nine from the thirty one Playfake Murray steps up in the pocket, looks flag is down tro far time intercepting again Kobe Bryant, this time down the near sidelines.

When he's knocked down the bounds in front of the Arizona bench. Not about the forty five. There's a hold? Does it stand? I think the interception will stand all right. So on this play, Kobe Bryan gets interception. Coach Mike McDonald said, there was a bust on thee for sure.

Is that Jay Love with the bust?

Who do you think it is?

I don't know if Jay Love or Wooling? If they're playing three behind it, I don't know. Again, it's somebody. But there's nobody in a deep third to our right defensively. And this is where you can keep talking about, is where Kobe makes up some ground and makes play.

And I'm sorry it's your play. I jumped in on you.

No, no go for it.

No this defense, No you go not so look, so I'm gonna start with this.

First of all, it starts off with what a great pass rush I mean, Derek Hall, I mean he is getting really good with his hands and he comes around the edge.

And on this one we got Kyler Murray.

He's got to step up and so he feels pressure and then all of a sudden, you see Murray Murphy. He's fighting and he thinks he's got a lane to scramble up the middle. That thing collapses immediately, and I see what he sees. He sees an open wide receiver. He doesn't get everything he needs on the throw. But you know Kobe Bryant and you know Coach MacDonald talked about it. Sometimes you just need guys to make plays. And you get a guy who makes a play from the deep center field that covers for other guys. It makes it look like the defense is perfect because that plays not perfect. I would say ten guys are probably playing perfect, but there's somebody who's not.

I just don't know who it isn't or who it is I.

Look at the backside.

You got Spoon to the flat, you got Jove to the third and Kobe's playing the middle of the field.

This could be the same defense we just saw.

Yeah, I think Wolan missed the call. He must have missed the call. There's no way. Everyone else is in his own and Woolan is running like his man.

Yeah, because I see I see love.

He comes to the tight end quickly, but I feel like he's almost going over the tap to help with a crossing route too.

But yeah, I don't know. Whatever it is, it worked great.

And again anytime I'm not sure what the defense is and it's still pretty sound.

Uh, I'm gonna take that.

And I think what we're just finding, we're starting to make place were and it starts to me with the pressure we pressure the quarterback. We may not always get the sack, but they've got to make a decision. And we've got playmakers all in that backfield.

So it's getting fun.

This is where you just play football. You draw plays. Me and moy can go back and forth. Then he'll draw something that beat me. I'll draw some that I'd beat him, and we'll go back and forth on paper. But the human play the game. Whoever has the pin last wins. Don't let them fool you. I know you got some years on me, so all right, sorry, but the humans gotta play the game, and that's.

I love it, all right. Last play, Zach Scharboney puts the Seahawks up two scores with this fifty one yard touchdown, and.

Off charbone left side has the first out of that's up.

He's down the thirty to twenty fifteen to ten to five touchdown Seahawks, and they are still chasing. Zack Charbonay forty nine yards to pey dirt, his second touchdown of the game. The Seahawks came in saying, we gotta find a way to run the ball.

Holy can't fish. They do forty nine yards for another six for Charboney and the Seahawks extend their lead twenty three.

Jam.

The older I get, the more I appreciate some run game, Lawyer. I'll be thirty nine tomorrow, by the way, tomorrow's my burn. He'll be thirty nine tomorrow. There can't believe I made it this far, I can't believe I made it this far. But Penn and Pool, you're gonna hear that a lot. Big Ray says it a lot. We'll say the lot. In our analysis, Penn and Pool just means that one side of the line is pretty much sledting down and pinning on side, and now you're guarding your tackle. They're pulling and wrapping around and kicking everything out. So the first guy is kicking out the end, the second guy is getting to the linebacker and kicking him out.

That's what we're seeing right here.

And the patience of Zach Sharpadame is beautiful. And with this pen and Pool, what's going on is there's a bubble on the other side that they're running with JSN. I guarantee you almost guarantee you, all right, they're gonna run this play and they're gonna throw the bubble to Jasn this week. They're setting this up. So watch this, you'll see the pin and Pool and Jason's gonna bubble. They're gonna throw that thing, or at least pretend like they're gonna throw that thing. But what we see here is just offensive linemen getting bodies on bodies. Three hundred pounders on three hundred pounders and two hundred pounders and it's knocking these dudes to the ground. But Zach Charbonay's patience realizing that I need my bigs to get on their bodies and following these guys is what makes this thing go. So I'm excited for Zach Charbonay. Don't get it twisted. You still need ken Walker. Okay, people talking about seat kin Walker, I go listen, listen, listen, listen, Linda, Linda Chill. Okay, you still need ken Walker. But ain't nothing like a penning the pull more.

Yeah, I mean, you know, first of all, Lemeya just knocks the living crap out of their defensive end. I mean, this is knockout. Charles Cross does a phenomenal job as well. He blocks down, helps Tomlinson on their defensive tackle, and then he goes to the next level. Everybody really made a good play. And then it's just the patience. I mean, sharbon Ay is hiding behind I think Lucas, he's just he's got his hand on the back of Lucas's butt as he's pulling through the line, and then all of a sudden he sees the seam and he goes it opens up like a red sea. It's beautiful. Yeah, it's really good. I want to talk about one play real quick. I thought we were gonna have it. It was the touchdown to JSN right after the turnover, right, it was the first play and Gino Smith throws an absolute dime on this corner router what would you call flag route corner round throws just an absolute dime. Go watch Geno Smith right after he throws the ball, he knows it, and this is not an easy throw. He starts, he kind of puts his fist down. I mean, as soon as the ball is out of his hand, he kind of gets a face. He prances on his toes towards the goal line and watches the play and then he runs to the touchdown. But he knew it, which I didn't know it because that was not an easy throw. And I mean it's across his body. You know, there's a little congested where he was throwing it. I just it was one of those where it's just you know, you watch a play and you go, what was that? And I got to replay it and again I go, did he know what? The second he threw the ball and he did. It was such a cool point.

You know why too, because he knew Jayson was going to catch that thing. Stress he's catching. Last four games, he's catching ninety two percent of the balls thrown his way. Is crazy? What's going on there?

That completely changes my thinking because if they had lost the night, I will say, yep, that's happening. Uh, there's I don't know if the Rams lose again until they play us. So I think the game, even if we sweep it the next three, we only got a one game lead. They want beat us the first time, so we're gonna have to win it. I don't think so.

So the Rams have the Patriots that the Patriots and their Cardinals Cardinals could get them.

I know they could, but they're not.

We've got We've got Green Bay Minnesota at Chicago on a Thursday night, short week finish at the Rams. I think we're playing well enough on me do Sunday's approve it ground.

If you want to be a playoff team.

Gotta win these games, win them a little bit conventionally to the next two weeks.

Zack sharbon a great game last week in one hundred and thirty plus yard one hundred ninety five total offense yep thrown in the receiving, Zack will rush for one hundred yards again versus the Packers.

Well, here's the thing. We don't. We're not sure if ken Walker's gonna player.

Not yet.

We gotta wait until tomorrow to get the injury report. If kin Walker does not play, I don't think he is.

Let's say he doesn't.

If he doesn't, Hey, Charbonna gonna do his thing again.

I believe.

I told you I talked to his coach at UCLA. Yeah, and he told me, look, he's in the zone.

Yeah, but he said better at zone.

But but you know what, you know what he's showing. He's versatile run some zone as well. I think that there's gonna be enough action when it comes to the past game to where they can't just load the box. And the packers don't really want to load the box.

They're not like Arizona.

Everything is from depth like they're not.

They're not packing in and load and going to rotate the safety's late. They're not gonna pack it the way that Arizona did. I think he's gonna do it again.

All right, man. He almost changed my mind. So look, last week we got the fifty one yard touchdown. Part of why that was is Buddha Baker dropped down from a safety position dropped into a linebacker position.

Tried to run through the play on the back side but couldn't get there. So now there's no safeties there. That's not what this team does.

They got two good safeties too, you know, Buddhist spectacle, but the way they use Buddha, they don't use Buddha like a normal safety. So man, I'm gonna say no, they're only giving up eighty six yards a game.

That means we're gonna have to pop a big play.

I mean, they're only giving up eighty six yards total a game, not to a running back. So I'm gonna say no. I think this is a tough one.

I think we're gonna have to beat them with the pack Watch the safeties.

These guys fly around with the Packers, all right, next one.

Coach McDonald will be firmly in Coach of the Year talks by seasons.

And absolutely this Sunday is the one. It's against a Packer.

Sometimes you need a marquee game, and you know everybody's gonna be watching this one.

It's a really good matchup.

You know, we've got some history with Green Bay here where we've beaten them on some of the craziest plays in the world. The last one obviously being the Super Bowl, the last super Bowl we were in which we had no chance and found a way to win that. I think this is gonna be huge. I think the Seahawks are gonna play keep getting better. I think we're gonna keep getting better.

I think we are. Our trajectory is good, and.

When we win this game convincingly, he absolutely will be in the talks.

You know who's in the talks right now. Sean Payton, what's the record eight and five? Hardball? Jim what's his record?

Eighty five?

Dan Quinn, what's his record eighty five?

Why not? He should be in it right now.

But I think it's because the way that they started and they had that major dip. And I think that because we're tucked away in the Northwest, people forget about us, right and they don't realize that him and Schneider made some moves to improve this team. He's not gonna win it. Dan Quinn's not gonna win it. Hardball's not gonna win it. Kevin O'Connell with the Vikings, is probably gonna win it. Him or Dan Campbell. I think should be even Mike Tomlin too. Mike Thomas would be no.

Question yeah, I mean bringing two quarterbacks and he probably should be there every that's one.

Of the greatest.

It's probably the greatest run in coaching history. I mean, he has never had a losing season.

Nuts, there's kids who were born who could buy cigarettes. Now, don't smoke, now, don't don't away from it.

McDonald's going to be in the race. Look, I think we need a marquee win.

It means you're gonna have to make your own decision.

You go DK, because Jaysin has been killing it these last four weeks, and they're gonna give him more attention. They're gonna bracket him in the slot, bring the nickel over, put the safety over the top, and leave DK all by himself on the back side.

Yeah, throw the middle screen. Then look I the route.

You know it does depend to an extent if you're on the if you got DC on the backside and they're saying, hey, we're a bumping run on him and he's got no safety help. And I'm probably looking over there just from that matchup, but from a route running ability, particularly in the red zone, because you have to run routes, You've got to say, where's the weakness of this defense. Everything's crowded, you know, you don't have as much room as when you're out in space.

Uh.

That play that touchdown one and Gino's confidence.

I'm telling you. The second the.

Ball went out of his hand, not an easy throw, contested throw. He's up here like this is a touchdown. I'm like, oh, they are on the same page. I'm going JSM.

But there was a time before him that we had to put back Dory eighty and nine when first started this minute, we had to do this stuff. And now I just show up and he gives us so much. And it's been a team for a long time. I know, guy, it's our last show. We're not going anywhere. We're going to the playoff, private super Bowl. We gotta be plenty left. But wanted to bring up because this really is a fun team and hopefully we continue doing this thing.

Yeah for sure, NASA Troby, since you give us all of this information, what are your final thoughts on this game against the Packers? How do you see this going down?

Well, I've been trying to speak into existence all week long. The forty nine ers, of course dropped the ball tonight. It is what it is. Here's my thing. The Seahawks can beat anybody in the National Football League, especially when they play the way they've been playing. The defense has shut everyone down for five weeks. It's pretty clear it's a trend. You start running the football. Last week I talked about We talked about this on our podcast. Paul talked about it all week. When you look at the Packers, everyone gives them all this credit for all their good losses. Losses are losses. Let's care about who they've beat. They've only beaten two teams with winning records. They're a good football team. But here's where I think the Seahawks are gonna get them. Gino Smith is going to continue not turning the ball over right. This defense has found a way. They're gonna continue taking the ball away. Ernie Jones, Leonard Williams, Julie and Love. Coach McDonald has these guys playing a different brand of football. And this is the first time in a national setting for everyone to see it, the entire world to see the Seahawks show what they can do. And they're gonna put that display on Sunday on their route to an NFC West championship first time for twenty twenty.

Love that Nash. You're down there all the time. Do you see they got a different little hop in their step.

Oh the juice has voice been there?

Man.

I mean like that was the one thing where people kind of talked about, like what's it going to be like with his new coaching staff and all this stuff. We love Pete Carroll, everything Pete did, His culture that was built with him and ghen are still there, but Mike is taking it, taking in his own direction and it lives on baby, Like the guys are hyped up. You look at how they are, they interact with each other, the guys care about each other. And they're playing a certain type of ball because coach McDonald's made it straight like you're either with it or you're not. Get on the train, or it's gonna get left behind. So they're playing a different Brandon ball and I'm excited to see what they're gonna be the rest of the way.

Like my grandma said, you better get right or you might get left.

That's what McDonald is talking about right now.

Nas We got Gino two consecutive games without a turnover first time this year. Eighty percent completion percentage last year or last last week, best of the year. Do you see him duplicating or getting somewhere near what he did last week without question.

I think we talked about what's a good game for Gino Smith. That's throwing the ball between twenty five and thirty times. That's thrown for about two to twenty five and a couple of touchdowns. The thing about Gino that stood out last week is how the offensive line was playing. He was able to go to his third four to three, take the checkdowns, taking what's there. Gino hasn't gotten enough credit for what he's been able to do this year with the deficiencies up front at times, and when he is able.

To step up in the pocket.

He's thrown more dimes this season than I can even account for with everything that's going on, so I expect to see a lot more of it. Gino's taking care of the football. When he's taking care of the ball, watch out because this guy could ball out.

He's gonna be here for a long time.

You know.

Probably one of my last questions is, man, we look healthy too.

Outside of Canine. I mean, I was looking at the injury report.

Most of them are just rests, but I mean the secondary completely healthy. Linebackers, d line wrote to offense, got famp back at tight end.

I mean anything surprised there.

No, this is the best time of the year. The guys are playing like it. They're getting healthy. I mean, you guys play the game. No one is healthy in December, no one's healthy in January. But at the same time, there's no major injuries. Guys are coming back. Everyone is playing its battling through stuff. But they're incredibly healthy. They're in a good place, and I feel like they're just as sending. They're at that exact They got that right mix in there. Everyone's kind of bought in, So I'm excited. I feel good about it. Canine's gonna come back at some point and with that once two punch with him and Sharbonnay, they figured out this gap scheme.

Good things are coming.
