An Aina Haina man was arrested a day after another fire broke out at his home. Honolulu police launch an investigation into a crash that left a bicyclist in critical condition. Episode 43 of Kilauea's ongoing eruption has paused, but safety hazards remain after ash and tephra earlier fell from the sky.

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is making significant progress in getting Native Hawaiian beneficiaries into housing. Chair Kali Watson says his agency is awarding about 2,600 leases this year, a substantial increase from years past. 

He also says the department is working on commercial projects to generate revenue, including a race track in Kalaeloa.
