On Hawaii Island this morning, a prayer for healing and a plea to the public to drive with care as there have already been 19 fatalities on Hawaii Island roads. In light of the tragic vehicle and pedestrian collisions, Honolulu EMS is joining the Blood Bank of Hawai'i in urging residents to donate blood. And Hawaii lawmakers are working on a plan to provide $100 million in housing assistance for the state's neediest families as SNAP benefits are set to expire.
