Honolulu police have arrested a 43-year-old man suspected in a machete attack in Haleiwa Tuesday evening. The incident happened around 5:50 p.m.

HPD said the suspect struck the victim several times with a machete, causing injuries to the victim’s forehead, shoulder and cheek.

Nearly two weeks after devastating flooding, Molokai residents say recovery efforts are making progress and they’re grateful for the help and donations coming in. On Oahu, Waialua firefighters are back at their station about two weeks after it was flooded. A search-and-rescue mission is underway after Iran shot down a U.S. fighter jet; one American airman has been found and another remains missing.
