Tropical Depression Moke continues on a path well south of the islands, but shower bands associated with it could still bring a threat of flash flooding to parts of Hawai'i Island. While Hilo was spared from Moke's heavy rain, over 6,400 Hawaiian Electric customers remained out of power as restoration work focused on areas hit hardest by Hurricane Lala. Meanwhile, the state Department of Education is distributing free weekly meals for children in the Ka'ū district.
