Governor Josh Green is on Kauai assessing the severe damage left behind by Hurricane Lowell as most of the island remains without power. In Hanapepe and across west Kauai, residents are entering their second day of recovery facing widespread blackouts and limited gasoline. As blocked roads finally reopen, we get our first look at the wreckage on the Garden Isle's battered north shore.

Gov. Josh Green is on Kauai today touring the aftermath left behind by Hurricane Lowell with 84 percent of the island still out of power. Emergency food distribution events have been set up around the island, and crews are making progress clearing hazards and opening roads.
