Description: Join Brother Mike, professional counselor at the Arizona Deliverance Center, on Hardcore Christianity (hardcorechristianity.com) as he presents a thought-provoking teaching on the limits of human wisdom and scientific authority. In this episode, Brother Mike examines historical medical missteps alongside contemporary public health messaging to highlight how fallible human consensus can often prove mistaken. Ultimately, he calls believers to anchor their trust in the unchanging truth of the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than relying solely on human institutions.

Key Takeaways

The Fallibility of Human Wisdom: Historically, accepted medical practices and scientific consensus—from bloodletting and lobotomies to tapeworm diets—have repeatedly shifted or been proven harmful over time.

The Danger of Intellectual Pride: Spiritual and intellectual arrogance can lead leaders and institutions into confidence without accountability, leading followers astray.

Scriptural Foundation Over Human Authority: While human knowledge constantly changes, God’s Word provides a permanent, trustworthy foundation for life, health, and faith.

Led by the Spirit: Believers are urged to rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than unquestioningly following cultural or institutional directives.
