Guest DJ

Beth and Kirsti from Safe Passage were our Guest DJs. We talked about April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month. They have two big events in April including their Walk A Mile event at the Convo and their Take Back The Night Vigil as well. They also have some fundraisers at Farranda's and Willret Flowers as well. 

Cami from Voluntary Action Center was our Guest DJ! We talked all about their upcoming Volunteer Appreciation event on March 12th. We also highlighted their big fundraiser on April 4th featuring the Bad Momz of Comedy at the Egyptian Theatre! 

Ben Bingle from the DCNP/Give DeKalb County was our Guest DJ. We talked all about the first steps in registering for Give DeKalb County. You need to be a DCNP member by March 1st in order to see if you can participate as a non-profit! We go over everything you need to know to get started.

Mikayla from the DeKalb Park District was our Guest DJ! We talked about a ton of great events coming up. From a family skate night, to egg hunts, to golf, there is a TON going on! 

Samantha from the DeKalb Public Library was our Guest DJ. We talked all about World Of Reading which is coming up in March. This is a huge event for them where they have six immersive worlds you can dive into. We also highlighted a Sourdough Class, a Ragtime Concert, and a program on the Rockford Peaches. All which are in line with the America 250 celebration.

Greg from Arcomusical was our Guest DJ! We talked all about their big event on Sunday, Transformation Through Rhythm! It will be at Dekalb High School at 3pm and feature several different performances. It will be a lovely day of music that is also a fundraising event in support of DCNP’s 2026 Give DeKalb County Bonus Pool.

Sarah and Anne from Barb City Manor were our Guest DJs. We talked all about their resale shop! They have a sale going on right now where specific items are half off. They are also taking donations as well. Plus, they have a few apartments open as well.

John from DeKalb County United and Tim from the Sycamore Education Foundation were our Guest DJs. We highlighted what each organization does and who they serve! We specifically talked about the Bar Crawl coming up on 2/28. This is not only a fun bar crawl and a day to get out but, it will benefit the Sycamore Education Foundation. 

Sara from the Clinton Township Public Library was our Guest DJ. We talked about some of the offerings the library has but we really focused on a huge event this Sunday. They are hosting their first "Love Your Library" Author Fair on Sunday from 11am - 3pm at the Community Center. There will be 22 authors you can meet with, live music, and even a taco truck! 

Sara from the Corn Fest Board was our Guest DJ. We highlighted the Corn Fest Sound Stage lineup for this year! This lineup has something for everyone and will be one for the books! 

Kerina from Tails Humane Society was our Guest DJ. We talked all about the Sip and Sparkle Jewelry Exchange fundraising event coming up. We also touched on the Spring Yard Sale as well. Plus, their Nonprofit Award win from the DeKalb chamber. 

Sara from the Corn Fest Board was our Guest DJ! We talked all about what Corn Fest is, what to expect, teased the lineup coming today, and also talked all about volunteering! 

Jill from the Sycamore Library was our Guest DJ. We talked about some cool events coming up including everything from a magician, a jewelry making class, and a cooking class! Plus, winter reading is still going strong through the end of the month! 

Karson from Rooted For Good was our Guest DJ! We recapped 2025, went over their services, and talked about the need for volunteers. There are several ways you can get involved and help them. 

Andy from Kishwaukee United Way was our Guest DJ. Andy is the new Executive Director so we took a few minutes so he can introduce himself to the community. We also talked about their vision for growth, we discussed 211 and how vital it is, and we highlighted their Empowerment Luncheon coming up on March 19th! 

Cortney from Stage Coach Players was our Guest DJ! We talked all about their upcoming show Gypsy, which opens on Thursday! It's also the 25th anniversary of the show done at Stage Coach! This is a phenomenal musical that takes you on a real journey! Tickets are on sale now! Don't miss it.

The Sycamore High School Theater Group is presenting Alice In Wonderland opening this Thursday. Holly, Ava, and Marcella were our Guest DJs and we talked all about the show. We highlighted what to expect, their favorite parts of the show, and how to get tickets. 

Shay and Taylor from Family Service Agency were our Guest DJs. We highlighted what Family Service Agency does but focused on Youth Programming. We talked all about the Royal Children's Ball coming up on March 13th and what it benefits. 

Anna from the DeKalb Chamber was our Guest DJ. We highlighted the Annual Celebration Dinner which happened last night and what it means to be a member, how it can benefit you, and how to learn more.

Jeanine from the Egyptian Theatre was our Guest DJ. We highlighted Valentine's Weekend at the Egyptian and she introduced some friends she brought to talk about Jazz At The Egyptian! Scott from Sycamore HS and Devonte from DeKalb HS highlighted the event, what its all about, how it started, and what to expect. This is a unique show that brings together HS Jazz, NIU Jazz, and Jazz In Progress to play a great show that benefits the schools in the end.

Anna from the Rotaract Club of Sycamore was our Guest DJ. We talked all about what the Rotaract Club does, who we serve, and our fellowship aspect of the group. We highlighted the Hygiene Drive coming up this spring and teased a Save The Date for our Open House on April 21st. 

Jessi from the JF Glidden Homestead was our Guest DJ. We talked about their Nonprofit Award nomination and the significance of that. We highlighted their 1873 Date Night event coming up on 2/13. They have room for ONE more couple! We also highlighted this months Soup-Er Sundays programs.

Beth and Kirsti from Safe Passage were our Guest DJs. We talked about it being Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month all throughout February and what that significance is. We also highlighted their Walk A Mile In Their Shoes event on April 18th! 

Samantha and Chelsea from the DeKalb Public Library were our Guest DJs. We highlighted some really cool events like James The Magician, some America 250 events, Toddler Events, Adult Events, and more. 

John from DeKalb County United was our Guest DJ. We talked all about the exciting summer ahead surrounding soccer. We mainly highlighted their upcoming Bear Crawl on 2/28 in Downtown Sycamore. It's going to benefit the Sycamore Education Foundation. So you can have a day out for a good cause! Plus, networking, collaboration, and a good time.

Hayes from the Habitat for Humanity Board was our Guest DJ. We highlighted their Music Bingo Fundraiser coming up and their Homeowner's Orientation Sessions as well. 

Eric from the Kishwaukee Family YMCA was our Guest DJ. We discussed their New Years Resolution Promotion they have going on, Family Fun Night which is tonight, their Winter 1 programming which is underway, and an upcoming NIU STEAM class where kids can learn 3D printing and more. 

Susan from Birth To Five Illinois was our Guest DJ. We discussed the new initiative they have which is a mental and behavioral health recommendation. We also highlighted a save the date for their community event on March 7th discussing mental health with some fun activities. 

Autumn and Lisa from RAMP were our Guest DJs. We talked about what RAMP is, what they offer, and more. We specifically highlighted Project Search which is an amazing program that helps students gain employment! They have an info session on Wednesday, 1/14 at 6pm we highlighted as well. 

Holly from Family Service Agency was our Guest DJ. We talked all about the CAC or Children's Advocacy Center. We also highlighted that its Human Trafficking Awareness Month and talked about some information on that. Also important to note that their Royal Children's Ball is March 13, 2026 and their Walk to End Child Abuse is coming up in April! 

Deanna from the DeKalb County Mental Health Board and Lynette from Adventure Works were our Guest Djs today. We talked all about what the Mental Health board does and how the fund different services which Adventure Works is one of them. We highlighted what Adventure Works does, what they offer, and how they can help kids. 

Jill from the Sycamore Library was our Guest DJ. We highlighted the Winter Reading Challenge! We talked about some other awesome upcoming programs as well including a pasta making class and some fun events for kids. 

Jessi from the JF Glidden Homestead was our Guest DJ. We talked about some really exciting events coming up including Soup-er Sunday which starts this Sunday. We also highlighted the 1873 Date Night coming up in February that is on sale now. 

Christy and Abby from Safe Passage were our Guest DJs. We talked all about their new shelter which had their soft shovel ground breaking for in December. We highlighted the new features and possibilities this new shelter will allow, and more! 

Jeanine from the Egyptian Theatre was our Guest DJ! We talked all about the 2026 schedule. There is a lot of great programming coming up. She also announced for the first time exclusively on WDKB they are kicking off their Oscar Film Series on Tuesday, January 6th! Details on all of the shows can be found on their website.

Anna from the DeKalb Chamber was our Guest DJ. We talked all about why it's important to be part of the chamber, what the benefits include, and we highlighted some fun stuff coming up for 2026. Whether its a training, a fun event, or networking, they have it all and more.

Deanna from the Dekalb County Mental Health Board and Michelle were our Guest DJs. We talked all about an initiative they are working on to help get Grief resources to DeKalb County residents! They have a survey that's available to fill out now based on needs and they have a roundtable coming up in February.

Samantha and Emily from the Dekalb Public Library were our Guest DJs. January is packed with fun, educational, and sparkly magic. We highlighted some really fun events. If you are looking for something to do for all ages, check out the library! 

The DeKalb Jr. Barbs have two teams going to Nationals! They came in to talk all about what that means and what fundraising they are doing for it. Find out more and how you can help! 

John from DeKalb County United was our Guest DJ! We highlighted their Bar Crawl and Winter Skills Camp both coming up early 2026! We also talked about Sponsorships for DKCU! They are actively seeking new businesses to partner with.

Anna from the DeKalb Chamber was our Guest DJ. We talked all about Lights On Lincoln and Sana Comes To Town. They are moving the celebrations into the Egyptian Theatre to stay warm! We also highlighted Winter Bash, their Gift Guide, and more! 

Kerina from Tails Humane Society was our Guest DJ. We talked all about Giving Tuesday. They are aiming to raise $30,000 for their medical fund. This fund provides lifesaving care for homeless animals. We also highlighted the Yard Sale this Saturday and Pet Photos with Santa coming up as well. 

Christy and Rebecca from Safe Passage were our Guest DJs! We highlighted some of the things that happened this past year, talked about some new beginnings, what the community can expect, and how you can get involved. 

Samantha, Steve, and Patrick from the DeKalb Public Library were our Guest DJs. We highlighted a new holiday bread making event coming up, talked about some upgrades in the sound studio, and some great teen events coming up. Plus all the regular holiday things you know and love. 

Kelsey from the Kishwaukee Family YMCA was our Guest DJ. We talked about their Program Guide coming out with Monday with all sorts of fun and new things in there for you to check out. We highlighted Family Fun Night coming up with roller skating, pizza, and Santa! We also went over some amazing specials for membership and talked about their "No School, No Problem" program.

Fiona, Emma, Tommy, Eli, Felipe, and Marcella from Sycamore High School were our Guest DJs. They are in the show "Bye Bye Birdie" which debuted last night. We discussed the show, when you can see it, how you can get tickets, and got a little teaser on what you can expect! Plus, a song! 

Tia and Wanda from DeKalb Chamber's Gather were our Guest DJs. We talked all about their year end event coming up, some of the highlights of the past year, and how you can join! We also highlighted what it means to be in Gather! 

Kim from Habitat for Humanity was our Guest DJ. We talked about their latest build which is a duplex! They broke ground and will resume construction in the spring. We also highlighted year end giving and ways to get involved. Plus, we announced a save the date for their next Music Bingo Fundraiser in February.

Emily and Joni from the Genoa Kingston Christmas Craft Walk were our Guest DJs. We talked all about the history of the walk, how it started, and what to expect for it's 51st year. For three days you can visit 17 different stops throughout Genoa and Kingston and explore. You can eat, you can shop, and enjoy holiday magic. They even have a full map you can follow with all the stops listed and mapped out for you.
