This week on “Growing Greater” we begin our new inspiring series we have proudly partnered with Citizens Bank to produce. This series entitled “From the Neighborhood” brings you stories of family-owned businesses that been part of our Greater Philadelphia community for generations. Some individuals spend most of their lives on the sidelines, waiting to be given the chance to succeed in a career. Recently incarcerated individuals known as Returning Citizens represent a huge untapped workforce.

Rich Bevan talked with Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, a council of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia about how his team at Baker Industries helps place Returning Citizens with the right training, the right job, and ultimately the right career opportunity. Bill Stockwell of Stockwell Elastomerics, a 4th generation-owned business joins the conversation and describes how his company has benefited from their partnership with Baker Industries.

As the global pandemic of COVID-19 ensues, the way in which we live our everyday lives has dramatically changed. Our ability as a society to go to see our doctors whether it be for routine checkups or for more serious matters, has been greatly hindered. By embracing technology and new advances in telemedicine, patients are now able to receive the treatment they need from their very homes.

This week on “Growing Greater” we connected with some of the leading players in the growing digital health sector to learn how companies are working together to provide better treatment for patients. Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, a council of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, talked with Nicole Tranchitella and Rich Birhanzel from Accenture, a leading global professional services company, providing a broad range of services in strategy and consulting, interactive, technology and operations, with digital capabilities across all of these services.
