As the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 approaches, Greg spoke with State Representative Brent Hoffman about being at the Pentagon when the plane crashed into the building. In the interview Mr. Hoffman described his thoughts and feelings.  Mr. Hoffman wrote an article and said, "I hope I’m not alone in remembering 9/11.  Perhaps you also remember where you were, what you were doing, and how time just kept marching forward."

Fox just cut Maria Bartiromo. Twelve years. Three shows. Name stripped off the lineup.The network gave almost no reason. Reporting says she shared internal guidance with the White House after Fox told her to stay off Trump’s latest 2020 claims. The president called her a true warrior and said her fans will not be happy. How do you feel about Fox dumping Maria Bartiromo? Does this confirm what you already thought about conservatives at Fox? Do you still trust that network the way you used to?

Jurors began a sixth day of deliberations in the closely watched murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, a former nurse who strangled her three young children in January 2023. The jury has been deadlocked since at least Tuesday morning, but a judge has urged them to keep trying to reach a verdict. Failure would result in a mistrial, and prosecutors would have to decide whether to try again for a conviction. The wrenching case has sharply divided Americans over whether Ms. Clancy, 36, should be held criminally responsible, and cast scrutiny on access to care for new mothers struggling with mental health.

A new poll says 98 percent of Americans think a scammer has come after them. Three in 10 say they lost money or personal information.This is not the old “you won a prize” email. It is fake bank texts, jail calls, IRS threats, packages that do not exist, and voices that sound like family. If they got you, you are not dumb. They are good at this. What did they try on you?

Rahm Emanel is out there drawing a line. He says Democratic Socialists are not part of the Democratic Party. Run as your own party, he says. See you in November.  Yesterday, eight House Democrats voted with Republicans to condemn socialism and the DSA, Almost the whole caucus voted no. Leadership also voted no.  Here is the problem alot of people have with this sudden backbone. The socialists have been winning primaries.  If you spent years letting this grow, a press tour in September does not erase it.

Tony Romo pleaded no contest yesterday to driving drunk in Wisconsin. He put out a statement saying he owns it. He talked about back pain after football, and getting off pain pills and leaning too hard on alcohol. He also said he hopes to get back into the chair in the CBS booth.  Nobody here is waving this off. You do not get behind the wheel after drinking. The question is what happens to his job?  Should this end Tony Romo's broadcasting career?

Flock cameras are the pole cameras that read license plates as you drive by and dump that data into a national network police can search. Police say they catch stolen cars and find missing people. Alot of regular folks say they do not want their every trip logged.  Cities are shutting them off. Arizona towns just killed contracts, Minnesota cities have pulled them. Texas froze state spending on them. The latest is Governor DeSantis in Florida just pulled the plug on Flock cameras.  Do you want these cameras on the roads where you drive? 

Federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations will chase leads, knock on doors, and send cases to prosecutors. This runs from now into mid-October - right as midterm voting heats up. The states on the list are Washington, Wisconsin, Missouri, Georgia, California, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York and Connecticut.  DHS says election security is national security.

Google Maps has changed the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America” for U.S. users to reflect President Donald Trump’s executive order renaming the lake, according to ​a Google statement. Trump announced Thursday that he was changing the name ‌of the smallest of the five Great Lakes, part of an escalating trade feud with Canada that has prompted the two countries to impose reciprocal tariffs on billions of dollars ​in goods.

A prosecutor in the New York attorney general’s office sent an agency-wide email to hundreds of colleagues Friday claiming that he had been instructed by his supervisor “to find and pursue crimes committed by specific individuals and organizations affiliated with Donald Trump.”

Canada’s public broadcaster is facing criticism over internal guidance telling journalists not to describe 9/11 as "terrorist attacks" without attribution.The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) says terms like "terrorist" and "terrorism" are politically and emotionally loaded and should be used with "extreme caution."The memo comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, with Canadian MP Rachael Thomas calling the guidance "absolutely shameful."The FBI describes 9/11, which killed nearly 3,000 people, as the most lethal terrorist attacks in history.

President Trump renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America on the U.S. side yesterday, right in the middle of a collapsing trade fight with Canada.Washington already hit Canadian goods with new tariffs. Ottawa is answering with counter-tariffs set for September 8. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith wants both sides back at the table before that happens. She says Canadian oil will not be used as a weapon against the United States.Trump has a way of getting under the skin of the people he’s negotiating with. I believe this name change is part of that.

Meta settled a huge lawsuit against the social media giant this week. They agreed to pay $17.1 Billion to states that sued them. Marty Jackly announced South Dakota will get $52 million out of the settlement money.   

There’s a real DeFlock mania building across the Dakotas. People are packing library meetings.  Cameras are getting torn down in other parts of the country. And the pushback against Flock license plate readers is getting louder every week. These cameras photograph every plate that drives by and store it in a searchable database. Law enforcement says they help solve crimes. A lot of people say it’s surveillance gone too far.Attorney General Jackley wants new statewide safeguards. Others want the cameras gone entirely.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said any nation financially partnering with Iran would be isolated, and that banks and businesses dealing with Iran would share its isolation if they refused to cut ties. The moves follow U-turns and extended deadlines from the White House in its efforts to end the conflict. Bessent described the measures as "the single greatest financial offensive ever" against Iran, which would "tighten the noose and block every potential source of revenue".

Greg spoke with Becky Rasmussen, President and CEO of Call to Freedom about an event the organization has coming up. Also, what the organization does, who they help, and how they help. 

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 yesterday to lift a block on key parts of President Trump’s executive order restricting mail-in voting.The decision allows the administration to move forward with creating voter eligibility lists and involving the Postal Service in mail ballot delivery. The three liberal justices dissented, and more legal fights are still ahead.

Over the weekend California signed the Stop Nick Shirley Act into law. It's aimed at independent journalist who are out there. Shirley went viral for a video investigating fraud in Minnesota.
