Sandy Salverson

Greg and Phil talk with Sandy Salverson, Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Services at OSF HealthCare, about the importance of safely disposing of unused and expired medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, happening Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She explains how the nationwide initiative works, why keeping unnecessary medications at home can pose risks to children, families, and communities, and how proper disposal helps prevent accidental poisonings and prescription drug misuse. She also discusses the impressive amount of medication collected through these events each year and highlights the anonymous, convenient drop-off process and encourages residents to clean out their medicine cabinets and participate in the local collection event at the OSF Center for Health on Route 91 in Peoria.
