Carlos Ponce gets candid about fame, ADHD, telenovelas, music, and the one career decision that still leaves him wondering “what if?” The Puerto Rican actor, singer, and TV host opens up about growing up in Puerto Rico with Cuban parents, moving to Miami as a teenager, and building a career that has kept him working for decades. From hosting Control to starring in beloved telenovelas like Guadalupe, Sentimientos Ajenos, and Dame Chocolate, Carlos shares the hustle behind his success, including working as a bartender while appearing on television.

Funny, humble, and refreshingly honest, the self-described workaholic discusses his experience with ADHD, what he wishes he could reclaim at this stage of his life, and how a decision during his last record deal affected his music career. Carlos also takes us behind the scenes of Couples Retreat with Vince Vaughn, sharing how audience reactions helped expand his role as the unforgettable yoga instructor. Plus, he explains why returning to Telemundo’s Top Chef VIP doesn’t appeal to him and why chasing drama or viral moments has never been his priority.

We explore his film Perla, where Puerto Rican traditions like bomba and plena meet reggaeton, and his upcoming movie Hurricane Season alongside Aida Rodriguez, which touches on the Latino diaspora and the ties that keep families connected to the island.

From unexpected encounters with international telenovela fans to the realities of life beyond the heartthrob image, this Carlos Ponce interview reveals the humor, perspective, and the REAL personality behind a familiar face.
