Steve Murdock first burst upon the scene as an accomplished young golfer, winning the F-M Junior All-City golf tournament by 17 shots. He went on to a standout career at North Dakota State and reached PGA club pro status at PGA National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida and head professional at Firethorne Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Through his contacts, and out of the professional golf game, Murdock has had a unique job with the Masters tournament for the last 10 years handling merchandise of patrons who purchase items at Augusta National. These days, he plays at Village Green Golf Course in Moorhead, where Russ Nelson — who taught Murdock the game as a kid — is the head pro.
