Ahead of his concert in Singapore on 13 May 2023, the legendary crooner, Paul Anka, chats with Philip Chew of the Midday Fix.
Gold 905 s one on one with Paul Anka. You've been doing this a long time now, seven decades and going to the eighth decade, how do you maintain that energy and the drive in order to maintain the longevity of your career? You know,
I learned early in the game when I watched the guys I loved and worked with all the rat pack guys, they were drinking and smoking and all getting sick too early in their life. And you know, when you come out of Canada with nothing
and the kind of background I came from and you find something that you have a passion for. I just made choices in life that I was not going to destroy that because I saw too many with drugs, what they did to their lives. And I just said I don't want that to be me. I became very health conscious throughout my life. Even to this day, I have a certain way of lifestyle and it's worked for me so that I've reached an age where from my doctor's point of view, I'm not my age. My
is still there and I can go out and do what I do because I live a certain way that's paid off for me. I've just taken care of my body. So that's kind of been my rule right up until now. I was telling someone recently on an interview, I keep the old man out. I have no interest. To me, it's a number and to me, I have no interest in doing anything that's not going to allow me to function properly. So
that's very good discipline on your pipe. Paul.
I try. Yes, I'll have a hamburger now and then
