It's been a really, really long time since I've recorded any new music. I think the last one we went to Nashville and made my album Beautiful Tangle, right before COVID, and then we went to go on tour and COVID hit, So that was kind of the last time I recorded. And when you're married to the record producer, it's exactly like if you got a leaky tap and you're married to a plumber, you get the last bit of attention. So it's hard to get in to get to record a song. So it came in a bit of a roundabout way. Rod came home with a song that they'd written and played it, just an acoustic demo of this song called worn In, And I said to him, I love that because I hear everything of every artist in its acoustic form.

I'm like, I love this song, it's very country, but I said, you should ask someone else who's out touring, more like ask someone you know, like like a big you know, big touring artists who's still out there. So she did and they said no.

Oh, It's incredible, and it's one of those pinch yourself moments because, as you know a kid, you grew up listening to all the icons of country music. I loved country music ever since I was little. And to now think if I could have told little Courtney, then you get to be mentored by the beautiful Gena Jeffries and now have a duet with her. It's It's one of those incredible full circle moments. So I feel very privileged.

But being an artist, nearly every single country music artist that I know has another job because you it's expensive and even think of someone as big as Casey Chambers. She also produces other artists and has a home studio thing that where she does events and all that kind of stuff. Most artists me, I'm on the radio and run a singing and performance school because it's it's expensive, but new artists like Courtney, all of them have a side hustle. And of course we're lucky enough that Courtney Kyle works here on the radio station.
