High flying defender Nick Haynes becomes the fifth inaugural GIANT to speak with award-winning journalist Emma Quayle.

Selected with pick 7 of the 2011 AFL Draft, Haynes talks to Quayle about the different route he took to the elite level.

After quitting the game as a teenager before returning to Football in 2010, Haynes quickly went from park footballer to professional impressing with the Frankston Bombers.

Haynes discusses what he did during his time away from the game and what reignited his passion for our great game.

Meanwhile, a decision to set the club up like a US college campus played a huge part in creating its culture and building a lasting bond between the players, as the crucial hunt for a permanent home base began.
