This is the first time I’ve seen her and we will check in with her again in future episodes to see how her treatment unfolds. Hailey is 44 years old and like so many of my patients, she says she just doesn’t feel like herself anymore. Her major complaints are fatigue, moodiness, and difficulty losing weight. Like all my initial appointments, our conversation lasted an hour and half—although we’ve edited it for the podcast. We spent a lot of time talking about her life history, previous health treatments, daily habits, emotions, and menstrual cycle. Now, we are focusing on balancing her hormones and getting her thyroid healthy. Everyone’s different and it takes a lot of time to get to the root causes of symptoms.
