The Governing Council of the Africa Fertilizer Financing Mechanism -AFFM, has issued a call for greater action to secure adequate financing for the continent's fertilizer sector at its ninth meeting held recently. During the meeting, which was held virtually, and attended by 13 institutional members, the Council adopted the report on the year 2020 activities and endorsed a work program for 2021. The Council also commended AFFM's achievements, which include the formation of a partnership with Fertilizer group -OCP Africa-, aimed at improving access to quality inputs for 430,000 smallholder rice and maize farmers.
