In this edition of Gateway to Africa the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) talks to us about its recently launched Aviation Barometer which will track traffic movements in and out of its airports in South Africa on a quarterly basis. ACSA Chief executive Officer Bongani Maseko tells us the first report emanating from the barometer shows departures increased by 8.4% , while arrivals grew by 8.6% in the first quarter of 2016 compared to same period last year.
Also in the programme, South Africa’s hotel industry is set to steadily grow in the next 5 years due to an increase in the number of foreign visitors to the continent, so says PwC report released recently. PwC is an accounting firm operating in 157 countries around the world.
On Tapestry we profile Nanyi Enerst Ngoe otherwise known as Giberboi, a young and budding afro-pop Cameroonian musician now living in South Africa and we also sample some of his songs.
