Today, Shavonne had a chance to sit down with Dr. Angelica Geter, Chief Strategy Officer for the Black Women's Health Imperative, an organization working to eliminate barriers to wellness for black women and girls.
Dr. Geter leads the organization’s first national antiracism initiative. She also served as the first-ever Chief Health Officer for the City of Atlanta, appointed by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and led the Pandemic Coordination Team assembled in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Geter and Shavonne talk about the impact of racism on the health of black women, the work the Black Women’s Health Imperative is doing to create resources for black women in the workforce, and her hope for future generations.
