The Mason Jar's Furry Friends Friday featuring Beauty

Tigress is an absolutely loving female tabby about 1.5 yrs old.  She delivered 5 babies shortly after coming in, but none of them survived.  She loves people and craves attention.  She does better on her own, but she loved being "mama" to foster kittens.  She does well around dogs once she gets to know them and tells them who is really in charge.  Tigress is with Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan.  To apply online, simply go to our website,  animalaidswmi.org, click her profile and click the “apply for adoption” button or call 269-934-7729 for more information.

We have adoption events every Sunday at FuzzyButz Pet Bakery in downtown St Joseph 1-3pm, and every other weekend (including this Sunday) at the Bridgman Open Air Market (In the United Credit Union Parking lot on the corner of Red Arrow and Lake).  We also have upcoming Kitten Yoga through the Lincoln Township Public Library, our Annual Yard Sale fundraiser, and more!  Watch our website and facebook group page for details.
I would be remiss if I didn't remind listeners that Animal Aid operates completely on donations, and we have had many sick cats and dogs come in this year.  We would really appreciate any donations to help us with these costs.  We've adopted out over 100 animals locally and have over 200 waiting for adoption - this makes a lot of food, litter, and medical expenses.  
Animal Aid was just awarded a "For Good" Grant from the Berrien Community Foundation and we are going to use this to get a vehicle for Animal Aid.  One of our volunteers drove over 30,000 miles last year for us in their personal vehicle helping folks all over Southwest Michigan helping residents, our volunteers, and other rescue organizations.  We are in the process of searching for a safe, reliable vehicle and trailer that we can use going forward to meet the many needs of our community.  If you would like to contribute toward this purchase or the ongoing expenses that come along with this it, please reach out to Becky or Darryl.  (Reminder that Animal Aid of Southwestern Michigan is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible).  If listeners donated, even $1 per month, it would go a long way to helping us help everyone in our community.

Looking for a snack-loving sidekick? Winston is ready to apply! Winston is a 5-year-old sweetheart with a sensitive heart, an adorable personality, and a big love for treats. When he first arrived at Al-Van, he tipped the scales at nearly 40 pounds. Thanks to a healthy diet and plenty of encouragement, Winston has slimmed down to a healthy 25 pounds, and he definitely has more pep in his step. These days, Winston loves spending time outdoors, showing off his tricks, and, of course, accepting treats from his favorite people. He may take a moment to get his bearings with someone new, but once he feels comfortable, his goofy, affectionate personality shines through. Whether he's standing up like a meerkat in hopes of a snack or showing off his signature spin, Winston has a way of making people smile. Winston is ready to find a home where he can keep enjoying life's simple pleasures: walks, treats in moderation, and plenty of love from his forever family. Meet Big Mac! He is a Pit Bull Terrier mix with the softest heart. Big Mac is around 3 years old. He has a gentle and sweet demeanor to him. He loves to be glued to your hip, no matter what the activity, he is all in for it. He knows how to sit and has the best manners when taking treats. Big Mac is a sucker for people and excels at winning everyone over with his loving personality. He enjoys soaking up the outdoors. The grass, the sunshine, the smells - he loves it all. Though we don't know much about his past, we do know some. His partner was tragically hit by a car and did not make it. We found him and helped mend his broken heart. However, he is still lonely and seeking a loving companion. We have no doubt he will win you over with his adorable face, or his ability to play the system for attention! His adoption fee is $65 since he is not yet neutered.  Contact Cass County Animal Control at 269-445-3701 or visit the shelter at 323 M-62, Cassopolis, MI 49031 and come check out Big Mac and see what he has to offer!
