This morning’s Story Detective is Alfie. He’s here to remind us of ‘hope’ and the idea that stories can come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes we discover stories with a beginning, middle and an end…but sometimes a story can be told in a simple message or poem. And we can attach our own stories to words that make us feel something. What or who makes you feel hopeful? Here’s Alfie to help us hope!

This morning’s story is a poem made of memories, written by Sierrah’s great grandmother when she was still alive. We listen in here to Sierrah in the Cayman Islands..and her Grandmother in the Welsh Borders, reading together and telling us the story of when Sheila was a little girl and a place called Filey.

This morning’s Story Detective is talking to us from Argentina. That’s a long way away in South America where the weather is a lot hotter than it is here in the UK. English is Vina’s second language – and she’s been talking to her Dad about the creatures he used to collect as a child.

Our first Story Detective of the week is Isla who goes to Bishop’s School, William Leech campus in Northumberland in the North East of England. Isla decided to ask… what was life like for her Dad when he went to school?
