Choosing a new school: the questions to ask on a school tour

View descriptionShare

Going on a school tour? At some point a grown-up will ask if you have any questions, so we asked pupils at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park and Alleyn’s Hampstead what you should actually ask.

Do they let you be yourself and show your culture, or do you just stick to the manual? Are the teachers fun, and do they put their all into it? What happens if somebody is sad? The pupils explain why a good school isn’t only about how it looks, suggest one very searching question for the science teachers about the periodic table, and remind us of the practical stuff grown-ups forget, like what’s for lunch on a Friday.

Find out more about Alleyn’s Regent’s Park, and book a place at its open day, at alleyns-regentspark.org.uk.
