Gavin excelled at the plate and on the mound across a pair of season-opening wins. He first recorded six RBIs, three hits (including a grand slam), and three stolen bases in a 10-0 win over Whitney Point, then threw six innings with one run, four hits, two walks and eight strikeouts and had an RBI single and a run at the plate in a 4-1 win over Dundee/Bradford.
