Tuesday, January 6, 2026: Newark Valley basketball's Kam Short is ESPN Ithaca's Fueling Excellence High School Athlete of the Week, presented by Centralus Health. Kam recorded a triple-double of 13 points, 11 rebounds and 11 blocks in a 40-33 win over Whitney Point. Earlier in the week, she helped the Cardinals win the Marathon Miss Hustle Holiday Tournament, first recording 10 points, six rebounds and four blocks in a 51-23 win over Deposit-Hancock, then recorded 23 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three blocks in a 57-22 win over Dryden.
