Wednesday, September 9, 2026: Groton football's Lane Darling is ESPN Ithaca's Fueling Excellence High School Athlete of the Week, presented by Centralus Health. Lane recorded 224 total yards and five touchdowns in a season-opening 66-6 win over Sidney. He tallied five receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 84 rushing yards and a touchdowns. He also returned a fumble for a 33-yard touchdown.
