From the Newsroom, a news Still conquer you. Hey, I'm Brunti Koy. Welcome to the weekend edition of From the Newsroom, which is all about the Royals. We're going to go behind Palace walls to cover the big news of the week, including a major development in Prince Harry's US visa saga, he and Meghan's big PDA amid swirling speculation about their marriage, and the Palace issued an extraordinary statement after backlash over Kate. But first up, we'll debrief on the big news about Harry's legal battle. There'll be a huge sigh of relief over at the Sussex's place with a decisive statement ruling out any chance of Harry being deported. So this has been covered a few times on this podcast, but for some quick context on Harry's US visa drama and how now Trump factors into it. It all kicked off a while back when a conservative think tank launched legal action to force US authorities to release details of the Duke's immigration forms. The reason they claim he may have lied about his drug use on the form or received preferential treatment under the Biden administration. As an admission of taking drugs usually will see an application rejected. Harry would have applied around twenty twenty when he moved to the US from the UK, and in early twenty twenty three he released his memoir in which he discussed experimenting with drugs. So fast forward to this week, and after hinting in the past prior to the US election that he'd considered taking action on Harry's visa situation, Donald Trump has now ruled it out. In his first statement about it since taking office, he told the New York Posts that he wouldn't topport Harry, adding quote, He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible end a quote. So not the most flattering remark, but overall, Harry and Meghan can at least breathe a little easier on that front. Moving on, and still on Harry and Meghan. The couple have been having a PDA filled week at the Invictus Games, following months of rumors about the state of their marriage and a fairly rocky start to the year. Pr wise, the Sussexes have been all smiles, kisses and hands. They opened the Games in Vancouver and Whistler this week, joking on stage with each other and just generally appearing to be having a whale of a time. Megan even made an impromptu speech gushing over her husband at a welcome reception for the athletes and their families. Take a listen, and.

I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to introduce someone who means a lot to me and I know means quite a lot to all of you. You will see him throughout this week. You will see him at the games. You will see him probably curling with you, cheering you on, and because he wants to be there with you, he is in it with you, and you'll see him through all of those moments. He'll be there with you. What you won't have seen is all of the moments that have happened in the lead up to these games, all the moments where in as you know with families, the big rush in the morning and getting ready for school. I'm packing the lunchboxes and making breakfast, and my husband's in all of that with us. And then he'll be honest phone and origin will saying Papa, way on your phone. He's like, because it's Invictis, I'm getting ready for Invictus. It means so much to him.

Next up, Kensington Palace's extraordinary statement about Kate finishing up with an interesting and rather unprecedented development regarding the Princess of Wales this week. So last week, a story about Kate no longer wanting to release details for outfits to the press made headlines all over the world, sparking plenty of debate and also some backlash and opinion pieces on why it may not be a great idea. The original story had come from someone quoted as a Palace insider speaking to The Times UK, and after days of the furor, a member of the Kensington Palace communications team made the very unexpected decision to reveal themselves as the source of the comments, in a bid to clarify that it was not actually Kate's position and that there would actually be no change to royal protocols. Very interesting anyway, that's your Royal fix for now. Thanks for listening. We'll be back with our regular news update next week.
