I was like, what that audio from the Baby's Age shucking stuff and moving on the lead singer of the Village People has set the record straight about the song, Y Mca, insisting it's not a gay anthem.
Who year he is chatting to TMZ.
The thing about people saying that it was a gay anthem dealt with particularly my lyrics. Now, there's nothing in my lyrics that says anything about the illictitness that maybe some gay guys used when they went to the Y and performed and listen acts or sex or whatever. There's nothing about sex in my song lyrics, and there's nothing about it being just for gay people. In my song, it's a song. It's just a happy song, and I wrote it about the things that I knew about growing up in San Francisco urban area and going to the Y. This is why it kind of irks me when people decide to say that the song because of any thing that is in the lyrics, is making it a gay anthem.
