Lodi residents Ali and Bob Colarossi were instrumental in starting the Amgen Tour of California, now celebrating its 14th year as the second largest cycling race in the world behind only the Tour de France. Bob was the first managing director of the race and Ali helped leverage Amgen's sponsorship, a company that provides vital medicines for people fighting grievous illnesses. Both are still involved in the race and they also own Estate Crush Winery in Lodi. Stockton will host the start of Stage 3 this year on May 14.
