In a wide-ranging conversation with the Journal Wednesday, Infante-Green said she began visiting the district's 41 schools Tuesday and will continue to do so.
"I'm already disappointed with what we found yesterday," she said. "It's not up to my standards. It's not as clean we expected and the physical condition is worse than what people have reported. The conversations are going to be very difficult. Once again, we haven't taken over the district yet. We're doing what we can from the outside."
