The Federal Hill nightclub whose patrons police say fatally stabbed and beat a man in a nearby parking lot will remain closed for now as authorities work to get surveillance video from inside the establishment.

The city shuttered Club Seven a few hours after the death of 28-year-old Stephen Cabral, who police say was pursued and overtaken after leaving the Spruce Street club on June 30. After a vote Wednesday by the Providence Board of Licenses, it will stay closed, at least until the board, which oversees the city’s liquor licenses, learns more about what happened.
