Today, we hear from Sulome Anderson, author and writer of stories about people who have lived in what she describes as extreme circumstances – women enslaved by ISIS militants, for example, and Syrian children who have been severely traumatized by unending war.

And she talks about her book The Hostage’s Daughter, a compelling memoir that begins with her birth three months after her father, former AP correspondent Terry Anderson, was kidnapped and held captive for seven years by Hezbollah terrorists.
