“I don’t care how many years go by, you’re not going to make the streets wider, you’re not going to be able to redesign the property leading into that playground,” she said, adding that the neighbors’ opposition has been twisted by the mayor and other neighbors who support the pending proposal — making it seem like they hate children.

“It became: you’re terrible people,” Falaguerra said. “’You’re singing the ‘Oh Not in My Back Yard Song,’ which I can understand, but guess what: before you use that against us, come take a look, as many in the city have. All agreed that the location is terrible for a soccer field.”
