Roxxanne Newman, 35, started using drugs as a teenager. What began as happy highs became daily injections of cocaine and heroin. Newman was addicted, her life controlled by the fix. She wound up penniless and homeless and was repeatedly incarcerated. Clean and sober now for almost eight years, today she is a mother and master's-degree student at Rhode Island College -- and an inspirational leader in the state's recovery movement. @gwaynemiller #video for @projo.
