Lawrence T. Persico, 71, was installed as the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Erie on Oct. 1, 2012. In an interview with the Erie Times-News on Oct. 17, 2022, Persico discusses his decade-long tenure, including his handling of the clergy sex abuse crisis, and his hopes for the diocese over the next four years.
