On this edition of the Frederick County Sports Show, Steve Nibbs and Paul Dumars continue their Frederick County High School Football Season Preview Series with the only varsity head coach the Oakdale Bears have ever known — Kurt Stein.

Coach Stein was hired in 2010 to build the Oakdale football program from the ground up, and since then, he's turned the Bears into one of Maryland's most successful high school football programs.

Under Stein, Oakdale has captured two Maryland State Championships — the Class 2A title in 2018 and the Class 3A crown in 2023 — while also making multiple trips to the state championship game.

And the Bears are coming off another deep run.

Oakdale finished 10-3 in 2025 and reached the Maryland Class 3A State Championship Game, finishing the season as state runner-up and once again proving the Bears belong among Maryland's best.

Stein joins Steve and Paul to look back at another championship-caliber season, talk about the program he's built from scratch at Oakdale, and what has allowed the Bears to maintain that level of success. They also look ahead to 2026 and what Oakdale fans can expect as the Bears prepare for another run.
