The wealthy, connected and elite often got away with things, or were given lenient sentences when compared to the common fold. In ancient Israel, God???s Law was different, it was a level playing field and social status was irrelevant. In God???s eyes, the Law applies equally to all. That???s the real treasure from Mt Sinai.
