An ancient Jewish practice of rabbis was to look for commonalities or connections between passages when a word or phrase was repeated. In this way, they’d be able to connect those words or events, and deepen the meaning and richness of God’s Word, revealing multi-levels of understanding. This process is termed ’stringing pearls’ and that’s what we’ll be looking at on Foundations.

By learning about the Jewish and Hebrew culture that the Bible was set in and the environment, traditions and understandings of the people whom God chose to write down His Word, we can gain a bigger, deeper and richer understanding of God's Word that we love so much.
