'Foundations' is about filling in the gaps with the information most people miss or are unaware of. The truth is that over time words, definitions and culture changes in dramatic ways and applying present day understanding and meanings to words, phrases and events, can lead to very different conclusions. By learning about the Jewish and Hebrew culture that the Bible was set in and the environment, traditions and understandings of the people whom God chose to write down His Word, we can gain a bigger, deeper and richer understanding of God's Word that we love so much.

Our program today looks at some of the characters God used to achieve His purposes, wondering how on earth He could not only use, but actually choose some of these people who did some really dreadful things. How could God choose such people to be His representatives to the world?

The Saga & Drama of Genesis - 1 October 2026

We've learned about the primary religious groups within Judaism, and today we're going to learn about the different ethnic groups, the Mizrahi, Sephardi and Ashkenasi Jews.

Mizrahi, Sephardi & Ashkenasi - 30 September 2026

The last denomination in Judaism that we're going to learn about on Foundations is Reconstructionist Judaism. It's another modern group born out of the Reform movement.

What Is Reconstructionist Judaism? - 29 September 2026

There are seven mandatory Feasts of the Lord, we've learned about them all on Foundations and today we'll get an overview of them all to see how they present the work and ministry of Jesus.

Overview of the Feasts of the Lord - 28 September 2026

The Feast of Sukkot (Soo-cott) or the Feast of Tabernacles like every Feast of the Lord, is a picture of some element of the ministry and works of the Messiah. We'll wrap up our time on this feast today on Foundations to show how Jesus is the fulfilment of Sukkot too.

Sukkot - Part 2 - 25 September 2026

The Feast of Sukkot (Soo-cott) is known mostly as the Feast of Tabernacles. It's one of the seven mandatory Feasts of the Lord. It a remembrance of the time the Hebrews were travelling in the wilderness during their 40 year wanderings and how God provided for all their needs on a daily basis.

Sukkot - Part 1 - 24 September 2026

On Foundations today we'll see how Jesus the Messiah is once again the fulfilment of the Day of Atonement ?' Yom Kippur ?' as He is in every other Feast of the Lord.

Yom Kippur - Part 3 - 23 September 2026

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement is what we'll continue learning about on Foundations today. It's the time of the year ?' the only day of the year ?' when the Jewish High Priest was permitted to enter the Holy of Holies in the Temple to make atonement for the sins of the people. It was also a time of self-denial, and we'll learn about some of the requirements of the people during this sacred time.

Yom Kippur - Part 2 - 22 September 2026

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement in the Hebrew Calendar. It's one of the mandatory Feasts of the Lord that God said His people were to observe every year. It's also the most solemn and serious day of the year for the Jewish people.

Yom Kippur - Part 1 - 21 September 2026

On Foundations today, we're continuing to learn about the different religious groups within Judaism, and we'll be learning about Reform Judaism this time. A more modern denomination.
