Submission Is Not A Figure-Four Leg Lock

Submission is one of those words that can instantly put your guard up and for good reason. Our culture often frames it as losing yourself, losing your voice, or giving in to pressure. But when we open 1 Peter 2:11–25, a different picture comes into focus: biblical submission is not a figure-four leg lock. It’s a clear-eyed recognition of God’s authority, rooted in the unchanging truth of Scripture rather than the shifting values of the moment. 

We talk through why this matters in real life, especially when faith feels out of step with the world around us.
