Doug Chadwick played football at West Point. He served two combat tours in Iraq and is a 24-year Army veteran. During his service he earned two masters degrees and a PHD. Doug was also Director of the West Point Center for Enhanced Performance, created to improve mental skills and soldier performance in combat. He uses that experience now as Director of Mental Skills Development for the Colorado Rockies. His job is to empower players to perform at their best under pressure. He and Lindsay Berra talk about what lessons that might transfer from the military to sports. This is part one of a fascinating two part series.
