This Folk Weekend was a hoot and a holler on account that it’s one of those “covers” episodes where I serve up some tasty renditions of songs you know and love. Some shining examples include, Swamp Dogg does a gospel-tinged version of a John Prine song, Chaparelle offer an ethereal ranchero take on a Whitney Houston pop classic, folk singer Kris Delmhorst does an 80's hit from The Cars, Chicken Wire Empire give us their bluegrass rendition of Smashing Pumpkins, Margo Price turns a Charlie Daniels tune into “Long Haired Country Girl”, a bunch of Stones and Creedence covers and more.
