The former deputy in Jackson County, Florida who was convicted in May on charges he planted drugs on unsuspecting motorists, is not in Hawaii after all, contrary to earlier reports by the Florida Department of Corrections, the Tallahassee Democrat reports. Paul Walker, FDC's press secretary, in an email said inmate Zachary Wester was “not in Hawaii, however his status is undisclosed for protection.” Wester joined the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in 2016 but was fired two years later, shortly after the drug-planting accusations came to light.
