The Florida Department of Health is investigating more than 100 businesses statewide for possible violation of a state law that prohibits the use of COVID-19 vaccine passports or similar mandates. Approximately 120 complaints were filed, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports, against businesses that include performing arts centers and cruise lines. Many venues have required patrons to provide either proof of a negative COVID test or vaccination to be allowed entry. Earlier this week, DOH released a list of organizations and individuals that are under review, though the list doesn't provide details of the alleged violations. Those found in violation could receive fines of $5,000 for each infraction. Senate Bill 2006, which was approved earlier this year, allows anyone to file a complaint about possible violations by sending an email to vaxpassfreefl [at] flhealth [dot] gov.
