A 66-year-old West Palm Beach man will remain on death row for fatally stabbing a man while he slept 40 years ago, the Florida Supreme Court ruled last week. The state’s highest court unanimously rejected claims that Jerry Haliburton was mentally disabled in 1981 when he broke into Donald Bohannon’s apartment in downtown West Palm Beach and stabbed him 31 times. Two psychologists, one hired by attorneys representing Haliburton and another hired by the state, sharply disagreed about Haliburton's mental capacity.
