In desperate need of help following challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lee and Collier county restaurants in Florida received more than $50 million from a federal program designed to help, the News-Press reports. According to loan data recently released by the U.S. Small Businesses Association, 270 restaurants and other eligible businesses in the two counties got grants from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The fund provided eligible businesses with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business, and no more than $5 million per physical location. Aside from restaurants- bars, food trucks, caterers, or other similar businesses where patrons gather for the primary purpose of being served food or drink were included.
