From Brazilian peppers to Burmese pythons -- Florida has been dealing with a multitude of invasive plants and reptiles. Now, wildlife officials are finding voracious freshwater fish upsetting natural habitats. There are 22 different species of non-native fish thriving in Florida’s fresh water streams and rivers. These include fish that were raised in Florida waters as tropical pet fish, but later escaped or were released. They include 13 different types of cichlids and four South American catfish species. State wildlife officials are looking for ways to keep the problem from getting any worse.
