The Lionsgate film "Midnight in the Switchgrass," starring Megan Fox and Bruce Willis may look familiar to Floridians. The movie is set in Pensacola. The film's director, Randall Emmett, is a Miami native, and he said he is always motivated to set a movie in his home state. Inspired by the infamous "Truck Stop Killer," the crime thriller, where state and federal law enforcement are on the hunt for a serial killer, was actually filmed in Puerto Rico but the Pensacola setting comes through. Emmett is a well-seasoned producer of more than 100 films including "The Irishman," the 2019 Martin Scorsese epic. He makes his debut as a director with "Midnight in the Switchgrass." The film opens July 23 in select theaters and digital on-demand.
